@xxdrkangelxx: I also thought we finally get to use blast back and cannon jump in the same jump once ReD hits, which would be just lovely <3
JUMP WHEN USING BLAST BACK.
..
And practice your Alt + Turn + Blast Back until you can clear your horizontals well. Unlike our tele-casting/FJ-ing peers (calm down, no hate; I've got these classes as well), there is a certain level of skill you'll need in order to overcome our mobility's learning curve. Cannoneers have fantastic mobility if you know what you're doing. And as @FreeIcecream mentioned, our horizontal mobility does get buffed with Monkey Push in the RED patch - so getting the basics down now would be swell.
Is it true that Cannoneers will also share their cash shop inventory with Explorers soon?
Yes, that is true. Both Cannoneers and Dual Blades will "officially" become Explorers and our Cash Shop inventories will be combined.
One of the biggest complaints we're getting is our horizontal mobility, but once the ReD patch hits we'll do really well with a nice monkey push > cannon jump > blast back combo.
1) Vertical mobility is outstanding, horizontal is decent.
2) Attacking speed is not as slow as most people believe, but is still relatively slow.
3) Survivability is decent.
4) Very underrated in terms of damage.
5) Pirate gear is cheap, but perfected cannoneer gear is hard to find.
6) It takes a bit of dedication to reach 4th job.
I think that they're a pretty fantastic class, even if unfunded. Pretty decent defense and HP , excellent mobility, pretty well rounded. Also, there doesn't seem to be much competition due to the rarity of this class.
they make excellent mules. a TON of storage space, and a great link skill.
but if you actually plan to train past 120, they're pretty strong. their lv 150 hyper is amazing. it triples your damage lines, but you'll do 40% of your original damage for each line. it's about a 20% damage increase overall. i love to see the huge lines of numbers <3 here's something to note though. their mastery books are EXTREMELY rare, even in scania.
Mastery books are not really a problem as you can buy them from npcs during. Now if he likes a slow ranged class then go for cannoneers, but if he enjoys high mobility and fast attacks then he is going to grow tired of cannoneers very quickly.

Firstly, work on all available link skills.
Secondly, enjoy one of the best, well rounded characters that's Nexon has yet to create.
Post-red they will of course be a bit better but for what they are now, you'll definitely enjoy the class.
Stay motivated; don't be distracted by any other class.
Currently, Pirate RA is second to cheapest in the spectrum of armors. Focus on acquiring yourself some pretty gears along the way.
When it comes to your range, just lvl. As you level you will see a gargantuan increase in your range.
As a plus, you get the worlds greatest companion. Non other than the coolest monkey on the planet.
Your going to love being a Cannoneer. We truly are a one of a kind class.
May your adventures bring good tidings and plenty of memories.
Don't rush to level, enjoy your time as you climb through the job advancements.
