Buccaneers, without a doubt, are much better bossers than Thunder Breaker (as of now, Thunder Breakers are getting a buff for around +100% damage on Annihilate and Thunderbolt later) but it all depends on what you like. Your fingers will be hurt a lot more playing Thunder Breaker because they repetitively alternate between two buttons to get a good damage output. I don't exactly have much of an idea on post RED Buccs, however, I can say Thunder Breaker is a pretty fun class overall. It has decent damage, enough to live with unfunded, two great hypers (150 to Spam Typhoon + Thunderbolt, 170 for Whale~), and great mobbing ability.
If you are just looking for a knuckle based class id just recommend you save up meso buy all equips and wait for eunwol its like the improved version of buccaneers it so good O.O
Buccs are slower in terms of mobility but are more geared towards bossing thanks to typhoon crush which gives 40% chance to ignore 100% of the targets def. I tried playing tb and it's paced the same as bucc, but it has weak damage. It's speed may make up for that but you'll still be doing small numbers. I find Buccaneers to be an easy "pick up and play" class, that's why I like them.
I will try to cover the pros and cons as for Buccaneers.
Pros:
1. Great mobbing skills
2. Auto healing (5% HP/MP every 5 sec) - OT: High HP and rarely uses potions.
3. Useful Party skills (Speed Infusion and Time Leap)
4. 40% chance to ignore 100% of the target's DEF
5. Pirate gear is cheap (utill Eunwol)
Cons:
1. DPS is kind of low compared to the other classes (Ranked 19th out of 34)
2. Your Damage is based on what you number you got on "Roll of the Dice" skill
3. You need to get hit in order to get a 15% att buff, which might not always work since it has 40% chance to succeed.
4. If not fully charged, range won't increased
5. Ever since RED partch, the bossing skill "Octopunch" is glitched (instead of increasing your damage when fully charged, damage decreases).
I think I covered it all.
I played both. I enjoyed both style until when it came to bossing, TB felt horrible and unsatisfying to boss with.
I can't speak for bucc's as I haven't played one since before BB, however starting a thunder breaker my mind was blown with the mobility and mobbing they had. Granted I also felt like I was going to have a seizure from the animations.
