Why is maple so laggy?
I started playing maple again and I tried playing on my original server, Windia. I have 100Mbps download speed and 10 upload speed which is good enough to run pretty much anything. For some reason, I have a lot of input lag.
I don't think its my graphics problem since if it was graphics problem, i would have some frame lag or some sort of game lag. Game itself runs very smoothly, but when I try to attack or pick up items, it takes couple of seconds to trigger.
I tried playing reboot server, and lag is still there but not as horrible as Windia.
Is there a way to fix this lag or will this be on forever?

@jasonhan416: Lol that'd be hilarious. The lag seems to go away and come back at times, but I'm assuming after this 5th job update its only gonna get worst.
Just closed the client because it's now become completely unplayable with the lag. 10~ seconds to register doing anything in game.

I bet nexon won't say "fix lag" tomorrow in the maintain update
@samuraiman: i should troll them and take a screen shot of my wired connection and reply with, "I have wired connection and 100mbps internet connection. Why am I still lagging?"
I actually submitted a ticket to them telling them that everyone was lagging (obviously they already know or they should already know)and they told me to try a wired connection lol.
I just came back to maple to see how it was, and holy lag. It was tolerable back then, but now it is almost unplayable at certain hours. Very discouraging for players to come back and find out the fundamental issues have not changed.
I think it because of the perk event(free weapon n ect)
Reboot is creating a bandwidth bottleneck.
I keep dcing while I train and it's very discouraging...

The lag these days became worse because of a lot of things:
- 5th job announced, many players came back for V event
- GMS and EMS fusion seems to be cause a lot of lag by itself (Luna is on maintenance now and the game is running smoothly)
- Even more people played during the weekend with Spell Trace Fever AND 2x exp and drop (why do they put them at the same time? it was chaotic) Bera ch1 chrashed completely for like 30 mins
@stoker: that's gross man lol. My friend whom I use to play with prebb forced me to come back to play again only to find out with this lag lol. I cant pick up mesos/items anymore unless i have a pet.
This game wont be stable until they replace the head-hancho at Nexin HQ period.

The most optimal time to play the game is roughly 4-6a est, 1-3a PST. You can run the game completely lag free then. The problem? Who plays at those hours.
Although lag makes for interesting CRA battles. Cvell's breath persists even past when the pulling effect is over for 2s (makes for an unlockable situation since you can't move back and you're surrounded by tails), queens destruction face is pulling you even when the kill box isn't there so you go zipping across the screen at Mach speeds. Pierre goes into hat mode after taking 1 tic of damage. Chicken's final stage teleport goes one place then next frame he's in a new spot because lag decided to put him into a new position. Of course throughout all of this your position is serverside but all the hurt boxes are clientside.
Chaos root abyss extreme.
The lag is on Nexon's end, not yours. Despite the fact that they make tons of money off this game, they refuse to even invest just a little bit of it back to upgrade the servers and fix all of the bugs, etc. They just don't care about the customers anymore, never listen to them or refund them when their glitches/mistakes ruin their equuips and screw them out of their hard work and $$$. It's almost like they're trying to fail using a bogus business model, the same way Sears is running itself to the ground. Ridiculous!
