So WonderKing is shutting down

Can you guys believe this?
I gotta admit, it wasn't the best game out there, but it was fun.
Apparently they've been having 10x more problems with hackers and gm's don't do crap about it over there, many bugs and problems and they don't even fix them.
Shows how much GMS Nexon works harder than them.
Sad to see a game go doooown just like that.

opinions?

Lol, this reminds me when Dragonica was shut down i think about almost a year ago. Although i only tried playing WonderKing until level 13, it was kinda boring for me :S

@sleepymilk: I don't. It's just that one person in this thread, excluding quoting DrHye ^^

It was coming anyways. As far as I know, Korean WonderKing hasn't had any recent updates either; and Global WonderKing opened with all the content so that was also somewhat of a bust.. I would also believe that a game that look strikingly similar to Maple (especially after Big Bang) would have a considerably more difficult time competing in the same market.

While it was in Beta, it seemed pretty crappy to me. I haven't played it since then, but it just seemed like a more confusing MS with annoying cooldowns on every skill.

@ShiroNoYami: Didn't WK make an ad that kinda took a punch at Maple/Nexon before Nexon bought 'em out? :o

I'm surprised no one mentioned the fact that Nexon bought NDoors Corp (the previous owners of WonderKing)

This was about a year and a half ago or so
The majority of people said that WK was going to go down during that period

@derakappy: If you don't want people to do or say anything to you on the internet about anything, you'd be better not posting it in the first place
I have a feeling that Global Maple is following the same path...
It's been heading that way for ages... although so far, the only thing that's been completely damaged beyond repair is the economy. XD
Jeez you guys take things so literally. I have a feeling that this is how Maple will end one day, not tomorrow, or next month, maybe a few years down the path. Or maybe few decade.
That's just how any MMO will end eventually. Why do we need anyone else to point out the obvious for us if that wasn't the case? In a business perspective, MapleStory as a franchise is strong enough to not warrant any immediate changes to the service, much less shutting it down altogether.

MapleStory as a whole makes for Nexon's #2 in terms of revenue gain, and the GMS service makes for a decent slice of that (about 15-ish % if I remembered correctly... only Japan provides less revenue for Nexon as a whole than the North American region). Considering that, why would Nexon decide to shut gMS down?

Temporary, Eh i played it for awhile to acutally form an opinion and it seems like questing was the the only up-side in that game.

I've played it in the past - it was a pretty good game. It's a shame that they've decided to close it; glad it's temporary.

Nope. Nexon has enough money to keep maple on.
We've been here for like what 6-7 years ? I think that's an achievement.

GMS wont shut down, the community grows everyday with people buying tons of NX, unless nexon goes bankrupt MS wont shut down and i highly doubt nexon is gonna go bankrupt with all these damage h0es

WonderKing didn't have any actual staff behind the development team in the North American release. Of course it's shutting down.

Saw my brother play it and it was just way too much like MS... Though MS has way better 2D graphics.
