Dont you hate when
your parents compare their past/childhood to yours? I do, it happens to me too many times. Whenever I wanna go out and eat fastfood or at a restaraunt my mom says back when she was a kid she always ate cup of noodles at home and only rice. Or when I ask if my dad can drive me to school for once he says back when he was a kid he had to walk miles up a hill to get to school and he never complained. Oh and my mom always pesters me to go to a university or a top notch school like Yale/Harvard. She swears like its so easy, its not like the 60s/70s where college was easier to get into to -__-
What other thing do you hate/dislike?

Back when I was your age, you had to learn how to kill a chicken.
Never, because their childhood was ruined. They barely got to live as kids.
They just tell me to do good, and to go far. As long as I give it my best shot, they're proud.
@Orchid: Try talking to her about it?
Because she wants you to do better then she did.
That was a tough one.
yes, i know, but she hasn't done anything to help me with that.
my mom tells me to get straight a's even though she got f's throughout school and didn't do any school past the tenth grade
i hate it even more when my parent's compare me to my cousins/friends/etc.
my mom always brings this up: "when i was your age, i was very young and beautiful and boys would always ask me to go to the dances with them. but since my dad was so strict and only wanted me to study so that i could keep up with my straight A's, he didn't allow me to go until i was 18. so i had to wait 18 years until i could date my first boy. i don't want to put that on you, so you should get a girlfriend"
she sounds so nice ;_;
Maybe you should establish some rules so I'm aware that I break them.
That would be useful.
^ It wasn't even mine, and I told them that afterwards. they were like "oh okay" and told me not to associate myself with those kind of people. that was the end of that.
oh yeah and I don't have a curfew but I get grounded for the rest of the weekend for coming home at 3. Maybe you should establish some rules so I'm aware that I break them.
>dad finds weed in my car, both parents cry
>dad got drunk like every day at school during highschool
85% isn't good enough when they both got like 60%.
I asked for a $1k oldsmobile, got a $3k cavalier and calls me "inconsiderate" when I said it's lame. I was trying to be considerate by asking for a cheap yet reliable car and you buy me this crappy car that scratches so easy.
My dad says i dont have enough backbone cause i never lived under a bridge like him.
whenever my parents pull that I just say something about marijuana
