That message pops up when they don't know why your computer can't download, and the firewall is just one thing it might be (usually isn't).

Most likely there was just some problem with their server that wouldn't let you download when you tried it, and the next time it was OK.

I'd start by uninstalling Maple from the Control Panel if it's still installed there.
Then (or if it's not available to be installed in Control Panel), go to the Nexon folder in your C: drive and delete the Maplestory folder.
Empty the trash bin.
Try installing again.

If it still freezes the computer, I'd try downloading "CCleaner" (free and easy to use) and use it to clean the computer of old junk, temp files and other unneeded stuff.
Then use the Registry Cleaner (the icon right under "Cleaner" ) to clean your Windows Registry.

You could also do a disk check with the Windows "Error Checking" tool (from the C: drive Properties, click the "Tools" tab on the Properties window then click "Check Now". )

Then try installing again.

Things like reinstalling Windows or System Restore are pretty far out steps and probably not necessary.

Virus, scan your laptop for any viruses/spyware, restart pc, reinstall windows or system restore, its not normal at all.

everything freezes i cant even move the pointer and above ty

Hmm.. ok, when you say it freezes the laptop do you mean EVERYTHING stops.. like the mouse pointer won't move and you can't change to any other program..?

Or do you mean when you click on the installer nothing happens..?

Try downloading the game directly from Nexon.

Go to the Maple site then click the "Support" button at the far right of the menu bar at the top of the page. Click "Game Clients and Upgrades" to go to the downloads page.

DON'T click the big "Download" button (that does it the same way you've already been doing it), look down UNDER the button. There's a sentence that talks about downloading the game what they call "the old fashioned way". There's a link at the end of the sentence, click that link and it will download the game to your computer directly without using their downloader program which is probably what's been freezing up your computer.

When the download finishes open the file it downloaded and it will install the game.

(Not sure if that's what you meant by downloading from the browser or not.. )
