Skill based mmos

I am looking for an mmo that is skill based, I do not mean just has skills you gain from leveling up like abilities, but actual skill to play, something where you have to dodge and don't just have to grind to be good. I don't just want to stand there and watch as I take one slash then my opponent does the same, but with a combat system in which you actually do more than just press the shift key while standing still to kill the bosses.

(Note: It needs to be a free mmo)
Thank you for any input you may have.

Skill-based MMO? You're looking at either an RTS (like Dota) or an FPS (like Combat Arms).

RaiderZ is really good. It's just out of beta, and the combat system is quite amazing.

League of Legends does require a lot of practice, some skill, and knowledge of some of the 100+ champions, but it's not a solo game. :x

Once you play League you might not play anything else lol.
@Ness: What do you mean Beta? I bought the game and played it right after launch.

Pffft. I mean, I don't like pointing out other people's faults, but you don't try to point things out that aren't even in the sentence, of all things.
Guild Wars 2 was released after Tera.

How could you have played Guild Wars 2 "longg before Tera" without "playing Guild Wars 2" being the beta?
And GW2 is a dying game. I know because I played it longg before Tera and pretty much completed the game with maxed out gear, and everything else within a month.
So you judged GW2 based on the beta? Pffft.

I mean, I don't like GW2, but you don't rate games based on the beta, of all things.

@hooplah123 but what sucks about tera is that it's subscription based.

In my experience most FPS are pretty similar, then someone convinces me "this one is different" but then it just isn't. League of Legends looks interesting, but I don't usually like RTS, I might give it a shot as a backup though.

Anyone telling you League of Legends requires skill is clearly incompetent.

You can probably get starcraft I or warcraft III with the frozen throne for like $10

You can also get LoL for free which is like dota / starcraft but free and less strategic
