Stop spending massive money and time on this game

The sad truth is that the people who spend money on this game only do it to feel a sense of satisfaction they do not get from their real lives. If they are lacking a sense of accomplishment from their jobs(or lack thereof) they feel the need to achieve that satisfaction from Maplestory. This is shown by the people who have effectively made MS their job by grinding hours on end or merching all day. Games should not feel like a second job. These people feel accomplishment when the game rewards with big green letters saying LEVEL UP because in order to feel a sense of satisfaction there needs to be a connection between effort and reward. People who do this are not looking for fun in the sense of a normal person does to enrich their lives. They are looking for an escape from their lives. Maplestory is just filling a void. This is a coping mechanism. Stop pretending what you are doing in this game is important and quit now and level up in real life.

How about you not tell other people what to do, and what they should spend their money on? How is spending your money on a game like Maplestory any different than spending money on buying books or getting your hair done or buying a DVD set of your favourite TV show? And who the hell cares if it's a coping mechanism - let people cope with it. It's none of your business to tell others what should be important to them and what shouldn't, and then judge them when what they hold in value is different from what you hold in value.

This is somewhat true. Maple shouldn't feel like a pain in the ass to play. I've realized that by forcing myself to level and grind, it isn't fun. It feels more like a chore to fill this empty void of achieving something which is why I'm not going for above level 200.

Well, you let those people do whatever they want because it's none of your concern. Them wasting their lives and devoting their time onto this game is none of your concern. I think your missing the point. Why worry about others? It's not as if they do you any harm? It's just you and being nosy towards others. In other words, all your doing is discriminating others for doing something they want. I'm just surprised that you actually took your time to write down this post. Don't you have anything better to do? Why don't you live your own life and stop worrying about others. (Especially people who you don't even know)

Some people are missing the point. I am talking about the extremists. The ones who let Maplestory be their life. This game tries to get you addicted and latches on the hardest to the people I have described in the original post. The people who play the game past the point of fun. The point where it becomes a job.

Putting money into this game is the equivalent of filling a sink hole only to have it consume more and more until eventually you fall in it.
It'll only consume you and lead to instant gratification- but long term misery.

Games are supposed to be an escape from reality, that's exactly what people are doing.

Isn't that like every game you play lol. No point of singling out one game. So i guess gamers are nothing but a void o_O

Edit: Isn't watching T.V the same thing. You don't play basketball, you watch basketball. You don't cook that food, you watch how they make the food. Your just watching others to make yourself feel better. Isn't watching T.V an escape in life as well? Don't just single out maplestory. smh

Edit: Your ign "rappist" doesn't help you cause either. Another reason why your talking about sensation, life, void, reward, fun, and everything else. Don't tell us to get a life with that ign o_o This tells us a lot about your personality and your hobbies.

your kinda right, but think about it this way; people spend hundreds of dollars on video games every year right? but if you play only maplestory and spend hundreds of dollars on it, its equal to spending the same amount of money on different video games. so basicly if ur telling people not to spend money on maplestory, its like telling someone els who doesnt play maplestory, dont buy video games.

You can't tell people what to do with their money. If they want to spend money then they will
