Basil, define the term "noob"

For me the term "noob" means a begginer, someone who has just started something eg. a game

What does the term "noob" mean to you?

Someone who tries to succeed and fails dramatically.
Or someone who has no idea what they're doing and walks around thinking they're all that.
newb - short for newbie = someone new/inexperienced.

noob = prick
If thats true, then..

someone new = inexperienced x (newb - short for newbie)
someone new = inexperienced newb - inexperienced short for newbie

I'm way too bored. ._.

There's a big difference between the word 'noob' and the word 'newbie'. The majority of the players unwittingly call newbies as noobs, and clearly have no idea how wrong their statement may go. If I were a newbie at a game I just joined or haven't done much on, then fine. I'm a newbie. Don't call me a noob because you don't know the difference. I am not ignorant.

Newbies are those whom are new, ask legitimate questions and do things without knowing there's better choices. They avoid drama and either go with friends or solo alot. Do not refrain from helping these people, they can build up knowledge and become a powerful friend in the future. They may be weakish compared to others, but they're normally happy with their items as it is.
Ex: Someone who is doing the third job advancement for the first time after quitting for four years when their highest previous level was 54. Asking questions and getting skill builds. This is acceptable.

Noobs on the other hand.. they're a big pile of ignorance put into a box, morphed into a whatever have you. They may ask for advice, then ignore it. They cause drama and ks or whatnot. They lie and say false information for personal gain.
Example: someone comes into your channel that you've been on for hours, and says 'cc noob'. This is the true 'noobie' example of the game.
I share your words, Monsieur.

Noob : Some one who can be ANY LEVEL with ANY GEAR but still SUCK at the game they are playing. - One with out skill.
Newb : Some one who is NEW to what they are doing, hence "NEWb".
Nub : More used as a joke towards friends. "Lol, you nub, go level up!"
