New School Supplies
Do you buy new school supplies every year?
Or do you reuse things.
I usually keep all my old pens/markers/folders that aren't ripped and get new notebooks, what about you?
I know people that throw out everything from the year before and start new. Seems like such a waste

I just buy new binders. I usually prefer binders because I need to relook at older material. Binders keep the content in better condition then notebooks. I have nowhere to put graded papers and handouts in notebook. For summer I used notebook because I took less classes and it was lighter to carry around. I don't buy new pens or pencils.
I reuse all the old stuff I collected/scavenged from my classmates, the last week of school. I save a lot of money doing these when I was still in school.
I lost all the money buying video games though.

For the original question, while I <try> to buy new supplies each year, I find myself liking some of the things I use so much, I just stockpile them, so I have enough for multiple years, that I don't have to buy them again. So each year, I'm using new school supplies, but I'm not buying them new each year.
In regards to notebooks vs. binders, I'm super unconventional. I carry a pack of loose-leaf paper (and sometimes even scrap paper), then stick them inside my textbooks to the chapter where the notes are being taken for, so I use neither binders nor notebooks. All I carry with me are my textbooks and a Five Star 4 pocket folder (http://www.meadonline.com/FiveStar/Products/folders.aspx) for general notes/course syllabuses that don't fit anywhere within the textbook.
Even back in high school, I stopped using binders by grade 11. I just simply organized my notes in my backpack as I would in a binder and brought that with me everywhere.
In general, I try to bring as little with me as possible.

Otherwise, I know they make left handed notebooks!
I know a few people who despise spiral notebooks, but I usually invest in the better ones with the fabric over the rings? If that makes sense. these! They're studier and I prefer the quality of the college ruled paper.
Yea I had a locker in middle school so having 5 binders was fine, but now I find just one 5 subject notebook is enough. I take most of my hum/science notes on my laptop anyway. I use the notebook mostly for math because I'm too lazy to figure out shortcuts for symbols and such.
I still haven't bought my notebooks since I don't start for another month but I might look into those; another thing I despise about spiral notebooks is that it feels awkward writing on the right side because I'm left handed.
I never got into typing notes on my laptop, I tried it once but I don't absorb the material the same way I do when I write it down.
AM I the only one that hates using sprial notebooks, the spirals get all messed up over time but I still use them.
On the binder/notebooks: In high school I preferred binders because I had 5-6 classes in one day, it would make my backpack heavy. In college I prefer notebooks because I have my classes spread out through the week and just take what I need.

Good to see everyone reusing
Also, extra question for anyone below that reads this:
Do you prefer notebooks or binders with looseleaf? I used to be a hardcore binder girl, but recently I've realized it's much easier to carry around a notebook and the subject notebooks have folders in between anyway. I used to have a binder for each subject o.o
I was a binder girl in high school and switched to notebooks for uni. I think notebooks are better because it keeps all your notes in one place and in chronological order. But binders were useful in high school because I remember getting a ton of handouts from teachers, whereas in uni the only handouts I get are syllabuses on the first day.

I used to buy new school supplies every year in high school, now I reuse things. I've been using 1 binder/portfolio for all my college classes (been with me for 2 years now).
I just reuse a lot of the supplies I bought years ago. I still have supplies I used since elementary school. The only thing I really need to buy annually is looseleaf and some spiral notebooks.
I did, but in high school you barely use anything besides loose leaf paper, pens, pencils, and places to put paper.
So this year I decided to just get a spiral notebook and a folder for every class.
I reuse the cute pencils and pens I get from Korea.
I generally end up needing to buy new notebooks and pens every semester since I end up losing my pens and filling up my notebooks.
Reuse. I take care of my stuff and I hate wasting. I bought 5 five-star notebooks right before I started university and 5 years later I'm still using them.
Mostly reuse. I buy new notebooks since they're only $0.20 with all the school sales and some folders since they rip pretty easily.
Reuse.
Imo, buying new things every year is so middle school. High school taught me to save cash for future references.
Reuse.
Years of high school have taught me you can literally go the entire year with only various writing utensils and a ton of looseleaf.
A folder here and there to help keep things from exploding entirely, but that's it.
Reuse. I throw out the used pages of my notebooks and use the remaining blank papers. The only time I buy something is when I actually need it.
I buy what I need. I usually try to reuse them but my stuff usually rip/break halfway into the school year
Guess im the only one who goes with the new year new stuff moto
BTW how do ur pens and pencils NOT get lost after a whole year. Summer just makes everything disappear o.o
I love new everything, but ever since high school, I only get paper and... maybe new notebooks. Kawaii pencils are expensive.
It depends on the condition of my stuff, but if they're mostly okay then I just reuse them.
