Dohoho! I'm a proud owner of both Fallout 1 and 2! Bought them both in a special pack ages ago.
Elder Scrolls is like Dragon Age. Or Fallout.

Elder Scrolls has the same developer (or something, could be exec producer) as Fallout, and their gameplay is rather similar.
Bethesda made Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Not to be confused with the developers of Fallout 1/2, which were completely awesome 90's games in their own regard. I personally think Fallout 3 did a good job of continuing the series and living up to the name that Interplay and Black Isle studios left.

Pretty much yeah. You can explore like mad and it NEVER gets old. (Thankfully fast travel exists if you needa get to places you really wanna get to).

Also, the character can get a horse and run pretty fast.

...are you kidding? It's Elder Scrolls!

To best describe the Elder Scrolls series, it's a Massively Single Player First Person RPG. If you're ever played Fallout 3 or Oblivion, it's kinda like that. Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion was so incredible that it wasn't hard to rack up hundreds of hours of play time in a single day. 13 square miles of lush scenery, thousands of quests, potentially infinite items and skills thanks to self enchanting, every character in the game is voiced and every aspect of your character is customizable. Your player evolves and becomes more powerful as you do.

I remember when my friend first showed me. "Hey, see those mountains way in the background? Just barely visible over that ridge. Yeah you can climb those. They're about 5 miles away."

Now take that and make it better. That's gonna be Skyrim. It's for the PC, and likely PS3 and 360.

Morrowind music... oh my god, I hope this follows Morrowind's footsteps instead of Oblivion's.

I think the gameplay style is very suited for an MMORPG - I could very well imagine it being online.
