What just happened to me

Hi,

Last night, I was sleeping and got woken up by my window shutting in the wind (it was like BAM).
After a while, I couldn't sleep so I just stared at my ajar bathroom door writing a story in my head. I stayed in the same position for a long time and soon, there was a really loud ringing sound which seemed to be coming from my ears. Suddenly, my body was like, paralyzed and I couldn't move it. Then my room turned blue and I saw a black figure at the far back of my bathroom. I recalled reading somewhere on the internet about this and I cringed and tried moving my fingers. I managed to flick my thumb back and forth and soon everything just stopped.

I got really freaked out by this and tried playing happy songs in my head. After a while, I started getting sleepy and tried to sleep and my body got paralyzed again (it wasn't like numb it was like completely frozen). I was getting frustrated because I knew every time I would try to fall asleep I would get frozen again. So, everytime I got sleepy and started to doze off I sprung my eyes back open again. After a few tries, I fell asleep though.

When I got up in the morning, I remembered every single thing that had happened and I know for sure it wasn't a dream. It was totally real. I told my parents about it and they kept telling me it was a dream, but I just don't think it was.

So what happened to me? Does anybody know?

I think I heard about this. It's called something like Lucid dreaming. I'm pretty sure it's rare to get these and with practice, you can pretty much control your dreams *O*!

I guess you had Sleep paralysis. People say they see creepy stuff when it happens to them.
I only had it once and I was completely baffled because it was my first time. Though I don't recall seeing anything horrifying.
