Getting back into this game, have some questions

I haven't played since early Chaos I'd wager, so I need some being filled in:

1. Is the Hero line good any more
2. Is there like a tier list of classes, or at least tell me what people consider the top classes? (Always get into parties, or perform really well on their own and are good for bossing)
3. What event sort of deal that raises stats should I be aware of, like how having a Canonist gave you a passive buff or whatever
4. How to make money?

Cygnus Knights do that too IIRC. I was wondering if any new classes came out that do something similar to that?[/quote]

you mean link skills? There's actually a lot now.
The newly created classes such as Kaiser, AB, Most of the MAPLE Legends, etc have the "link skill"
Just search "link skill maplestory" on google and you should see all the available link skills

Kannas are pretty useful utility-wise since they have kishin, which increases the mob spawn of each map, and they have 2 binds (used on bosses like Hard Magnus).

All jobs have character cards that give some sort of buff (whether it be exp, stats, etc.) and many jobs have associated link skills that also provide stats.

As for making money, be on top of keeping up with events. There are sometimes prizes that can sell for a decent amount of mesos.

I think I need to be more clear on two of my questions:

I basically wanna know not only which classes have the highest DPS, but are considered useful for their utility. I guess like, what's essential for a bossing run? Or is that even a concept any more? A long time ago when I played your standard party breakdown was like Bishop, Dark Knight, then fill out with DPS classes like Bow Master, Night Lord, etc and certain classes (cough Paladin cough) were notorious for not contributing a lot in runs and were thus snubbed

Second, back when Cannoneers came out, if you got them to level 70 in under an amount of time (or something like that), they contributed a passive buff to your main character. Cygnus Knights do that too IIRC. I was wondering if any new classes came out that do something similar to that?

if heros dont have power stance then dont bother bossing.. unless you enjoy getting knocked off platforms like mages do.. as for making money? you can farm bosses since bosses are very easy to solo now along with elite monsters they drop golden hammers and clean slates and other stuff that usually sell for like 50m each

1) Hero's are fun(even though I haven't played them in a long time) you should try them out!
2) From what I've heard, these are the classes people consider op:Night Walker,Zero, Night Lord, pretty much it because I forgot everything else
3) I don't even know what you mean
4) You can try looting spell traces and selling them for 40k, or that's renegades price<<<. If you level your characters and collect silent crusade coins, you can buy 100 spell traces for 20 coins . You can also take advantages of events(although I don't think there's any useful ones atm to make mesos), but I recommend doing bosses such as gollux <3. You can get cracked/solid pendants or belt and sell them for 1~5m . I don't really have much to say, I am a noob, but these are just from personal experiences ^^^. Good luck!
