So I started League

And I keep getting flamed for not ganking their lanes often early game. What should I do? I usually respond with, "It's not my fault that you can't hold your lane for the first 8 minutes of the game," but I start getting death threats, and I'm not sure how to disable chat. My win rate is above 60% as of right now, but I'm pretty sure it would be higher if I didn't see "Gank my lane often and maybe I wouldn't have fed." every few games, which is, of course, followed by more flame and death threats.

I'm not sure what I should do in these situations. Give them death threats? Try to act nice?

By the way, is there anyway to hide or disable chat? Pings are enough for communication imo, but chat is basically there for just bashing your teammates or the other team from what I've seen so far.
every1 does suck when they first started to play this game. Some people just improve faster than others. I remember having the same builds for every champ and building pd on veigar. <3
Lol. I still have the same build all the time for when I jungle fid lolol. So far it has helped me go from Bronze IV to Silver II. As far as I'm concerned I'm just going to have the same jungle fiddle build until I reach gold V. After that it I'll think about changing builds for champs lol. I've been climbing all the way so far.... Here's to hope that I manage to get to gold V by the end of the season lol... Stupid summer classes... I'd be able to play more games if it weren't for the fact I have 16 hours of class a week . Oh yea if anyone has a ranked team that needs a player add me! CrusadingAngel is my username. I want to try to get that ranked team ward thing lol.
Uhm what he meant by that is you HAVE to play bots until level 5. They don't let you play against other people until you're level 5. Also, until you're like level 20-25 you hardly have a jungler in your game, I'm surprised people know what that is. If you're level 20+ you didn't 'just start' playing league. And at 8 minutes you should have ganked once or twice unless you're farming for 6 and told your team that but you lose a lot of pressure by doing that and the other jungler will take advantage.
Not to mention you have to be utterly atrocious to farm for 8 minutes and not reach 6.

I got used to them, but I eventually got tired of the point that one person could ruin your entire team. So I quit

If you farm for 8 minutes as a jungler, you're doing something wrong. If you wanted to farm, you would play as a solo laner or adc, not as a jungler. Of course, people who die in 1v1 situations have no excuses
Well... assuming that you're a jungler, you SHOULD be ganking them. Basically depends on what side you're on, but eventually you should rotate through all the lanes. Good junglers gank a lot, because in a 1v1 even matchup, the side with the jungler wins. I personally feel that the jungler changes the entire game, so if you're new and not super good at it, i'd stay away from it for a while. You have to really know the jungle really well, to the point that you could predict where their jg was to counter jungle them. By the way, just as an example that the jungler's skill is necessary to win, I played against a malz jungle and we got completely destroyed because he was so godly lol. Gold 5 speaking. P.S. if you want to win, play akali mid or top... freaking op
To the thread opener. Just ignore them. Also to add to the above comment...

The first rule of jungling in my book is to basically gank the lane that you know you can get a kill from. There's no point of ganking a lane just because someone asks you to. Also, my rule of thumb is to usually gank lanes that are winning because it will help snowball them and secure more kills. Ganking a lane that is losing only wastes time since you have a lower percentage of securing a kill. Gank when someone on the enemy team is low health, over pushed, or if you know you can 90%+ get the kill.

Oh and just mute them by opening the player score screen and pressing the mic option to mute.

They're just immature kids.
I just ignore those people and report them for negative attitude in the end.
I usually play with my friends because they don't care how much i feed and we still have a good time whether we win or lose.
It's not about winning, it's about having fun.

I don't play LoL but I assume it has the same principles in terms of what to do against the community as Dota.

Ignore them, mute them, and learn how to tell people their bad even harsher. Get a mic and destroy them over voice if you have to.
