Mech PvP Guide

Hai. . .since there's quite a bit of questions about pvping with mechs & how to efficiently score well with one,
this guide should hopefully guide you in the right path to being a top mech killing machine we're known for.
Imo, I believe mech is top tier in pvp since we deal huge damage in short amount of time . . .especially in team mode..We were amazing in team mode! Before the CTF-nerf/"rebalanced" crap, mechs used to be able to tank a lot of hits, but afterward, we're just like every other player - die in 8-10 hits (we can still tank, but not that much lol). Most players think mechs are easy to pvp with, but mechs take quite a bit of skills & controls (you'd be surprised how hard it is to survive on a slow moving tank). But no worries You can still score high if you follow this guide. Main goal in pvp is survive as long as you can to deal more damage. I'll be only covering 120+ Veteran rank.

The basic pvp tips will be at the very bottom since most of you guys already know it.
(i.e. never stay in the middle of mob, pick up fist item, etc)
**still updating^^

[header=Intro]Skills.[/header]
Skills are very limited to mechs so we've to use what we got. (even our only ultimate big robot junk is disabled!)
To be most effective in pvp, I recommend you should be at least lv 130+ (for maxed extreme mech + decent points in laser) // 150+ for maxed everything.
main pvp skills - basic buffs / basic att / laser blast / seige mode / botn 'n tots / healing bot / amplifier bot

• Basic Buffs
prototype / satellite /perfect armor
- It's best if you put (prototype/satellite/perfect armor) into one macro, it will save you time rebuffing plus it's good for training outside of pvp.
A good mech should already have this macro.

• Perfect Armor.
- While mounting your mech, it has a 5% chance to guard against attacks
- Reflects 40% damage back to enemies
- always make sure you have perfect armor activated. It's one of our best skills & has save my butt countless times.

• Mech Rage / Dice / mw20-30
- Remember to cast all 3 in the beginning or cast them while jumping down from the top.

Mech Rage - increase att speed
Maple Warrior - 1% All stats = 1 Battle atk
Roll of the Dice - helps a lot & should be cast more often (4 - more hp, 5 - more att, etc)

• Basic att.
. . .your only main att when laser blast & siege mode are on cooldown. Always spam it where ever you go.
When you're jumping, twist back & forth spamming it; it helps lower random players' health.
A very good sniping/hit & run skill.

• Laser Blast. - cooldown: 5 sec.
Your 2nd main attack. Very powerful & can hit multiple players in one area; best use on big mobs.
Or take down runaway players with low health.

• Siege Mode. - cooldown: 15 sec. // your ultimate skill in pvp.
pro - Very good mob control; when there's a big mob, you can just sneak up & go into siege mode.
- Always position yourself far enough so the mob can't hit you but close enough so that you can take them down.
- If you're able to grab a fist powerup + siege mode, it's possible to 1hit other players.

con - Once you siege up, you can't move at all until it's done (you can only turn left or right) leaving your back vulnerable for attacks. Basically, you're a sitting duck & other players can abuse this.
- Never siege up under a platform 'cause our bullets only go straight, so your opponent can just stand on the upper platform attacking with no harm.
- Siege mode has a long cooldown so it's best to save it for big mob.

counter - If you are ever in the situation where you're in siege mode & your opponent's jumping from side to side attacking your back, just attack in one direction 'cause you won't hit him that much if you follow him back & forth. If he stops jumping, immediately switch to where he is & keep attacking.
- It's best if you siege up in the corner with your back against the wall.
- Only siege up in an open area if there's at least 60-75% players bunch up in a mob. Remember to distance yourself so you don't get caught up in the mob.

• Bot 'n tots. - cooldown: 60 sec.
After jumping down from the top, immediately set bot 'n tots at areas most mobs will likely end up. While you're away fighting in a diff. section, these little suicidal puppies be racking up points elsewhere. . .nothing like multitasking. Also, very good when you turn into a pig or whatever.
- When you're in a 1vs1 situation, always make sure to stand close to bot 'n tots for extra damages. Lead your opponent towards your minibombs if possible.
close range - if you're fighting a warrior, it's best to stand as close to bot 'n tots as possible.
far range - if you're fighting a bm, distance yourself so the bm or whatever is standing on top of bot 'n tots.

• Healing Bot. - heals 15% hp // self-destruct dmg: 400% // cooldown: 30 sec.
This skill saves life. I usually set it up right after bot 'n tots, mostly at areas that are easy to access (use it immediately after setting it up to gain that little hp you're missing after mounting) *Remember to return to this when you're in low health.
- Its self-destruction deals quite a bit of dmg as well to those near it.

• Amplifier Robot AF-11. - dmg buff 15%+ // self-destruct dmg: 300% // cooldown: 30 sec.
Most mechs neglect to use this; it's very helpful in giving that extra firepower.
Even if you don't use it, plant it somewhere most players usually gather 'cause its self-destruction deals dmg to bystanders in that area.

• Rocket Booster

• Mech Dash.
Since mechs are so freaking slow, this is the only skill that makes traveling fast.
Depending on certain maps with platforms, it can help avoid incoming attacks & lengthen your survivability even more if use properly.
I see some mechs barely use dash & end up getting kill when they could of just dash off a platform to increase the distant between them & the attacker;
so by the time the attacker comes close, his/her health will already be lowered.

**I will include diagrams later showcasing methods of dashing.

[header=Intro]Maps.[/header]
Like other classes, we're best at certain maps, usually maps with flat surfaces & ones with tele. Our worsts are maps with too many platforms >.<
I'll be listing the top best-worst maps for mechs & ways to use the map to your advantages.

1) Strange Knights' Chamber

2) Free Market

3) Magatia Desert

4) Gold Richie's Storage Room

5) Pink Bean's Party

[header=Intro]. . .against Certain Classes.[/header]
** I'll be updating with a more indept strategies against each class later.
Best way to defeat them is to read their own pvp guides, lol. Use that against them

Mage class - out of all the classes, mages are freaking tricky & very sneaky. Rarely do they 1vs1 unless it's a BattleMage or when you're on low health.

Thief class - They're okay lol. Smokescreen is annoying though

Warrior class - too tanky. Demonslayers are extremely annoying with their demon cry & whatnot.

Bowman class - hmm, lol. Merc's are annoying too with their jumping. . .Stop jumping!

Pirate class - Pirates are awesome.

@LampShadow I guess I wasn't specific about my answer. Of course you need to run away if you're low on health. However, if you're in the corner, it's best to siege up. That's why I said if you know you can beat him in 1vs1 (i.e if he only has like half health, using normal att will end up killing you & him, but if you're in siege mode, there's a chance for you to survive); I also said you need certain amount of distance between you guys to be able to siege up, if he's chasing you up close, only thing you can do is use normal att. It depends on who you're 1vs1 with; if it's someone with low health, use normal att & save your siege for mobs. There's a lot of diff. 1vs1 scenerios, I'll be covering those too.^^

Also, you can't outrun someone with more mobility than you, so you just gotta put up a fight. I don't recommend getting out of tank mode just to run away 'cause that will just slow down your process especially if it's a small map like Pink Bean map. I've tried a lot of tactics like playing defensively & whatnot, running away too much yield little bp. . .plus mechs are extremely slow, even on prototype.

I'm also working on amp. robot & siege mode. Right now, I'm just photoshopping good locations to set up your robots.

Thank you again for your inputs, it really helps a lot.^^ I never seen you in pvp before lol. If we ever have a chance, lets pvp.

@Kizo: I don't agree with your last statement about siege mode. If someone's chasing you down then your top priority should be to run away, and if that isn't an option then just use your normal attack against them until you die. You'll end up wasting almost 2 seconds trying to go into siege, and during that time you'd be better off just attacking them. Plus you're a sitting duck while using siege, they can easily just jump around and kill you. Same with laser blast, because laser's animation is so long you should never use it while you're inside of a mob or when someone's attacking you.

Another thing to note is that if someone's chasing you, get out of tank mode and run around in prototype. That will greatly increase your mobility, and it could allow you to set up a heal bot or find some HP pots. Rocket booster can also be used in battle mode, so utilize that when necessary (although avoid using it in tank mode).

Amplifier robot can also be useful in pvp. It can increase your total damage by 15%, but if you try to stay in the field then you'll be an easy target. Set it up on the outside of a mob when no one's paying attention to you, then play as you normally would (although that's the perfect time to use a laser blast as well). If someone comes over to you, run away and hope that someone gets caught up in the explosion when amp self-destructs

@LampShadow I'm able to macro it just fine; my order is prototype + satellite + perfect armor.

As for mw, there are some players that need to cast it just to be able to equip their weapons. So it does work at some point, iono if it does give b.att+ but it does give basic stats.

Yeah, this is somewhat a rough draft lol. Since there's no other mech pvp guide, I just wanna put this out to give mechs the basic idea on how to pvp.
I'm still working on stuffs like strageties & whatnot, but I totally agree with what you said.

I only 1vs1 if I know I can beat him. When someone is chasing you down & you have no where to go, it's best to siege up 'cause you will end up dying anyway.
But when you siege up in 1vs1, you should definitely allow spaces between you guys 'cause siege animation takes awhile & you need that enough distance to prepare yourself.

Stuffs like battle att equips & whatnot, those go under basic tips.^^; But I'll get to them eventually.

Just a note, if you put any prototype skills on a macro you'll automatically jump onto the prototype before casting them. So it's kinda useless to put prototype on a macro. My battle mode macro is mech rage + perfect armor + satellites. I don't notice any difference in my damage when I cast MW, so I think that bit of information is false.

The only other thing I could add to your guide is that mechs should never take the high road and try to 1v1 people (unless they're low on health or an archer) or get involved in mobs. Just run around the map and snipe people, using laser blast on mobs like you said. Siege mode should only be used when you're sniping a mob, never in 1v1 situations or when anyone is attacking you.

My only complaints are that you're more than a little biased, and you probably should've worked on it more before posting it. This just looks like a rough draft and not an official guide

*edit: You should also emphasize how important battle mode attack is. 1 battle attack = 1% increase in damage, so it's highly important to get as much as you can. I currently only have 30 battle attack, but even with that amount I can notice a drastic increase in my damage/score

I got my source about the mw at Southperry but there's no actual proof.

I noticed having mw allow me to deal more damage so might as well cast it.

Where on earth are people getting the notion that 1% All Stat = 1 Battle Attack? Source/Proof?

There sure are a lot of pvp guides popping up nowadays xD

A few things I'd like to point out.

-I still don't understand the 1%allstat=1B.atk. Is there any proof showing that? Stats almost have no effect in pvp, my friend used an ap reset, didn't do anything to his points, and still did the same in matches lol. Or am I just missing something?
-I do believe mechs are life savers in team match, I just love th healing bot!
-I'm interested in your tips and classes section once it gets completed too
-Also, I like how there's no negative option to the polls xD Positive all the way!
