Art

I have something to say

Hello Basil!
I was briefly notified earlier today that one of my art pieces, "You've come a long way" had been re visualized, edited, duplicated, and re-posted.
I am not angry, I did have a brief talk with that particular person and we came to an understanding and the image was removed from his blog.

I really love you all but we are going to have to try to not steal art work from others. This is a small community of artists and I am sure none of them wants their art work redistributed. When you take art work from others and call it your own you have to keep in mind that many of the work you took was created out of passion and devotion. Those artists were dedicated to what they made.

Now I'm not sure if any of you noticed but there is a group of young ladies on this website who have a keen eye for stolen art work. I'm telling you, they are like lie detectors, like wolves, lions that wait in the bushes to snap at art theft. These people are not afraid of embarrassing a thief in public. Chances are you will be caught.

Again I am not upset or anything but please take this into consideration when ever "Taking art" crosses your mind.
I also have a new request:
My art work may not be linked to any site, blog, or forum. I am a new artist here, I would like to stay out of the way of the artist who were here since forever. I do not need the massive publicity, I am fine the way I am =D.
Please, if my art work appeals to you, don't take the ideas and style and call it your own. I am not saying this because I hate you OR that I don't trust you all. I do indeed love you all, but for the safety and protection of yourself, it would be a wise idea not to do that. Many people will pick at you until no return if they see similarities in our art work. If you do try to use the style or idea as a tribute please, notify me, give me a heads up, ask for my permission, and label a reference if I do give permission.

I do not mind receiving mail or anything of the such, it has never bothered me, it has never been a chore to respond back to any of them =)
So please for the sake of the Basil Art community and I speak on behalf of anyone who detest of stolen art work. Please don't take art work with out permission. Have respect for your fellow peers. I know we are all past the age of understanding how to conduct ourselves in a proper manor.

Thank you so much for empathizing! You are all a bunch of lovely individuals!
Run out and be prosperous young people of basil!

DeadWonders: Sometimes I don't sign my work but that piece was signed. The person had placed something over the signature. Even so, the image was only posted on Basil so that was a silly mistake of taking it. Especially since I'm almost sure over 100 people saw the image and about 20 of them saw the original exclusive image. Either way, it's fine, we had a talk about the image. It all worked out.

GentleRain: Oh no I don't want you to change! I want you to continue being a panther for if more people knew you girls lurked in the shadows, there would be less art theft!
Apparently the image was up for a day or two with out me knowing about it. It just goes to show that you really need to keep your eyes open.
I don't understand the purpose of people taking work either. What will happen when you are asked to draw in-front of a crowd of people?

Static: Haha okay maybe I did give a little bit of a speech there! My bad lol.

BubbleTea: Oh, I wasn't trying to make you feel like a child. I could be the same age as you. I just know no one one basil is over the age of 40. We are all young. Young people make mistakes. Either way, I think that is just how I speak. I don't want to have a daunting tone. I am absolutely sorry if you felt some kind of way towards my language.
I was a bit disturbed and a little annoyed but I think the embarrassment of getting caught by the actual artist is enough. There was no need for me to virtually yell at him or anything. Just a little pep talk.

I just wanted to inform the artist here to watch their art work carefully. I'm sure they already know that but it's nice having a little reminder. I also wanted to inform past or potential thieves to forget about even trying to do this in the future and if they are currently doing it, it will catch up to them.

I read it all, and wow you take it well! so calm and poised lol. That's terrible, i'm glad you found out.
I will never ever understand those kind of low-acting people that enjoy taking credit and attention from the original artist. Ughh
