shad and db

i've been playing shad recently and the big numbers are awesome to see, but i can't help feeling like it's a bit slow/clunky. i haven't played DB since before their revamp, is it worth switching?

My shad and a dual blade friend were both 142 trying to kill some level 160 mobs. The DB died about 4 times and I didn't go past half more than twice. DB's hit faster but shadowers have their own really nice benefits. Choose what matters the most to you
There is not much to learn actually. Yes, put bstab with SB on a macro and if you ever find the monsters dying too quickly to just Bstab then just take macro off and alternate. It depends on the situation.

For example, if there are lots of mobs (over 10+) then you would use the macro because bstab + sb are separate hits and you will hit more monsters in total with this macro.
If there are just a few and they're weak, then just use bstab.

As for bossing. You mainly just want to spam Assassinate and put down Shadow veil whenever you can, not only does shadow veil help do damage, but it also charges ur Shadower's instinct count, which helps you hit your 5th count for the 1.5x dmg faster. As well, if it's a really tough boss like for example the panda in the dojo, put down dark flare and smokescreen. Darkflare helps with additional damage (but doesn't charge instinct) and while under smokescreen you get +20% crit damage.

That's pretty much the rule I follow when I play Shad.
damn thank you, this is super helpful. makes me excited to play on my shad a bit more
like i always say, if you can't get 50% buff duration. Shadowers DPM will > DB. Otherwise DB is slightly better Ceteris paribus.
Many people say shadowers are slow because they dont know how to play the class.
Shadower's mobbing skill = Boomerang stab + Savageblow
Single target = Assassinate.

If you still feel they're slow, use a MPE green pot.
I was a Dual Blade and switched to Shadower before DB's got revamped. I was happy with Shad, but I too felt that it was slow.
I switched back to Dual Blade a while before the revamp and then I felt better with the speed I was getting.
DB's % damage is pretty low, but it has rapid attacks. You'd need good funding to get stronger. But it is an enjoyable class.

I was a shadower before i changed and wow the difference is HUGE. With Asura, you will be bossing a lot faster. but you WILL be disappointed with your phantom blow bc it looks so weak. Until you can get a godly katara, expect low dmg ^^
