I perform fine in stronghold, though as everyone else I need to keep an eye on my hp.
Rocking 18k hp really helps with surviving, and as an added bonus our primary mobbing skill heals us.

Can't say anything on future golems as I've never been there, and I've only done the basic bosses.

@LetThereBeFradd: But it is the most rare regardless. I was referring to how it has the longest spawn time therefore being the hardest to get. And I've seen quite a few Lv.100+ wild hunters without one.

If you can get your AFA books and Xbow Expert books they have a pretty high range unfuded. I have a couple tempest equips with a 6% dex xbow, nothing too good, 2/3rds maxed Xbow Expert and 1/3 maxed AFA and have a 19k range. I'd say they are pretty good unfunded.

It gives you movement speed and +50% stance which in 3rd job doubles to 100% stance.
It's the best and rarest jaguar you can get.

That would just make them inferior regardless of the level of funding.
I've played my wild hunter with no funds, and it performed perfectly fine.
This class does solid damage with no funds, and while it isn't the OMGBEST, it does its job and it does it well.

@MuffinsINC: Well Marksman have a lot bigger numbers than Wild Hunters, and while moves such as Swipe have large %s, they don't have great AoEs and therefore make Wild Hunters inferior for people with low funds.

mine was hell first and second job. third job got slightly better but fourth is where it becomes fun with wild arrow blast

Actually, it's relatively easy to hit some decent numbers without much in terms of funds.
At least compared to other archers.

Though others may fare better, we get by just fine without funds.

They have pretty decent dps now (actually they have the highest dps for a hurricane skill user as of now) and AMAZING dps when they get buffed in maybe 4-6months. If you like hurricanes, go for it. They're pretty fun, I don't know though, I quit my WH because i'm into flashy skills >.>

Yes yes yes and yes. Like they said, 1st and 2nd Job can be a little slow, but we have the most survivability of all Bowmen, better mobbing than most(even better once we get the QoL fixes like reducing Sonic Roar's delay) and we do better than decent dps. We are the only class in the game(until Cygnus Returns update) with a Hurricane that has above average dps. Not to mention we can move during said Hurricane. Plus, Snow White is awesome, Swipe makes it easier on HP pots, and since we are bowmen, cheap equips.

For me the fun started at fourth job

3rd job is where it all begins

1st and 2nd job suck, but 3rd job is where it picks up and becomes awesome.
You get 100% stance with snow white, feline berserk which gives you an awesome damage and attack speed bonus, and swipe which is an amazing mobbing move in both 3rd and 4th job.
3rd job is where it gets fun, I say give it another go.
