I think it's more like to try to keep the people who recently returned to keep playing the game. With the start with free items which helps you to enjoy the game without needing to spend on nx to buy a pet for example.
I have friends who did come back on Ms but they didn't get the items because I occasionally log in on their accounts to get event items, otherwise they would have gotten them. One of my friends already quite, after playing his new made Zero to level 17x.
I got one of those boxes. Seemed really over done for a player who pretty much quit your game for the past 8 months. Basically gave me a free 7b(Wolf Underling), a one year extendable/moveable LGR, 20k maple points, a 30% off CS discount coupon, a character expansion slot, 2 cs rings, a free level 70 potion(so a free level 70 character for that free slot you just got) a one month re-usable Wheel and safety charm and a permanent pet(in my case Metus). If that isn't a massive FU to the loyal player base then idk what is.

The familiar is the important one than the lgr with expiration date.

Heroes package is rewarded when you haven't logged onto your account for a few months (I presume) I haven't logged onto my old account since last summer, so I received it.
Not sure what the period duration for inactivity is, but doesn't hurt to check ^^
Isn't it only 1 of the rings from the heroes package that can expire? I know at least 1 of them doesn't have an expiration date on their description.

It doesn't matter that it can be extended, it would be stupid to extend them.

they are technically permanent as you may extend them!

They do, but time extensions are possible on these rings. Plus, they are freely tradeable within account, no sharing tag needed. So if you are willing to cube it to godly potentials you can trade it between any of your characters, whenever you want, and only pay for one time extension every 3 months
No email code, they showed up in game.

The Black Heaven Heroes Pack was distributed via the Reward UI, accessable from an icon on the left side of the screen (the very same used to distribute Hot Time and Hot Day rewards).

time limited LGRs came from a package that was sent to players that haven't logged on in months
it doesnt really matter since the ring isnt perm.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't those LGRs have an expiration date?
