worth it to upgrade

Hi Basil!
Im looking into upgrading my Gaming PC and was wondering if its worth it to spend the money now ( $725 CAD) on a GTX 980 TI water cooled GPU, or wait longer till the 1080's lower the price further.
Im currently using a MSI 950 2G #nub

It depends on what games you play and what display setup you have. Both the GTX 980 Ti and the GTX 1080 are intended for high resolution gaming including multi-monitor, 4K, and VR. In this case where the two cards are in the same performance tier, it is preferable to have the newer card for its power efficiency and features. A feature of note, the GTX 1080 has Simultaneous Multi-Projection that improves multi-monitor setups and VR.

I see no reason for you to upgrade if you play on a 1080p monitor. Also, you've had your GTX 950 for less than a year and as such you haven't pulled all the value out of your current card yet.

Considering I spent well over beyond to make my super storage desktop, it's mostly worth it.

But really for precautionary/better investment just wait for a drop honestly. Unless you really need it.

I mean, the first Titan already kinda lowered the price, so I would've already, but if you wanna wait till it becomes the GTX 720, you could.
