Can anyone whisper me how I would go on to farm leaves?
I got the Maple Leaves falling on my head, to log on using different characters but is that the fastest way?

I can"t believe they removed dropping in the FM.
My drop trades were always 100% success, as I would have a private FM room, and a very small chance of someone being there.

Sssh, its okay. You're going to be fine. Its pretty easy to farm leaves, just do that falling leaves quest for a few hours on different characters and you'll have three or four thousand leaves.

I got hacked the Christmas of 2011, I lost around 40-50b along with quite a few 4th jobbers.
Now I'm back up to the amount I originally had, if not more, with all of my 20 character slots filled with lv 100+.
Sure I was upset for a few days after I got hacked, but I just got back up and started over.
As for 14,000 leaves, I can certainly understand how much that is if you're not overly funded. However, that's approximately 210m at 15k a leaf, and I'm sure one way or another you can compensate for that.
If you're willing, you could get 10k NX, just this once, and sell it for 500m to someone who's actually reliable in your server. Now I'm not just talking about a merchant with a few vouchers, they have to be well known and backed by the community.
Outside of selling NX, farming 210m from events isn't the hardest thing in the world, it just takes time. As someone previously mentioned, the "Maple Leaves Falling On My Head" quest is great. You can repeat on each character every 30 minutes, in which time you can just do the quest on all your other characters while waiting for the quest to reset. I'd suggest prioritizing any characters with a flash jump type skill or good mobility, then move onto other characters if you have more time within the 30 minutes leftover.
My friend does this quest constantly, and he can farm over 10,000 leaves in a single day. I've personally only tried it once due to a lack of time, and on a character that could only walk and has terrible mobility, I got 250 leaves within the 2 minute duration. So even if you have terrible mobility on all your characters, that's 3,750 leaves every half hour, assuming you have 15 characters and putting aside the time it takes you to log into a different character.
You could make back your leaves in say 4~5 hours with this method, probably closer to 6~7 realistically, or a few more depending on how many characters you have that can take part in the event, but making back 14k leaves should be a breeze if you can figure the ins and outs of this quest.
Also, again, as people have said before me, try not to drop trade since it's a very risky method, since there's always a chance you're d/c or be looted by another player. Having friends transfer is always a good method, and using a second computer in your house to do it yourself is even better. You just sign onto the account with the leaves on one computer, get on a mule on the second computer, give the leaves to the mule, then sign onto your other account on the first computer and have the mule on the second computer give your other account the leaves.
The storage is also there for a reason, and should be used accordingly. If you're trying to transfer to another account then ignore this, but logging in a few times and transferring leaves in bundles of 4000 (4 is the maximum amount of slots without expanding) is far better than trying to get it done quickly and risking the possibility of losing everything.
Getting back from a huge lose can be tedious and painful, it may even make you want to give up, but if you can just grit your teeth and keep your eyes on the prize you can get back up there. Good luck!

Looool. Drop trading was stuff that I did when I was like 12 dude. Use your head. That can go terribly wrong, as it did. Most households nowadays have more than 1 computer. Either that, or most kids these days have at least 1 friend, use the resources that you have.

This event makes it very easy to get mesoes.

1. If you don't want to lose it, then why risk it. The loss defiantly outweighs the benefits.
2. Why did you put your eggs in one basket. If you want to take the risk, why would you bet everything you had in one go...

I lost 2b when cubing a 10% luk white rac mask and dropping it while servers were laggy

I have collected 8k leaves in just 4 hours o.o you can get your 14k back easily
either keep going or give up completely
If it makes you feel better, I once lost 10 giant pots, 2 adv giant pots, 15+ books, 5 valentines roses, a rose clipping, a dream frag, and a DBG by drop trading. I still drop trade though. lol

You spent 2 weeks getting 14k leaves? You need a better method of obtaining leaves..

Doing the maple tree thing and opening 50 boxes from town daily gets you on average, 800 leaves. And that's only 1 character, 10 minutes.

@misslime: If I lost 10m and i had 0 mesos, it'd take me less than 5 hours to get it back. If I lost 500m and had 500m, it'd take me at least a week to get that 500m back and that's if I get super lucky because I am abnormally bad at merching.

I love people who drop trade. It gets me rich.

Wow I'm sorry for being harsh... We all were at the point when 140m meant a lot. I'm sorry. What I did to get my mounts and chairs on my 3 main characters was to do the quest on 1, then switch to another character and do it there, and then the next character and so on till 30 mins have passed. Then start again on the first character. Good luck :o

I haven't called anyone in maple a noob since christmas but this one deserves it. Stop whining and move on you noob -_-.

Thanks guys for giving me tips, I still feel extremely depressed since this was all Nexon's fault... mainly. I logged out and d/ced and couldn't log back into my account because it said I was "ALREADY LOGGED IN". After typing my username and pass MAPLE D/CED AGAIN. I take a while to load maplestory so by the time I loaded it again and got on my other account to pick it up, all my leaves had dissapeared. This was maybe a 5minute or more time span.

I don't know what to do, this was probably the most money i've ever had and made myself

Just go farm mesos off of monsters or get books from inkwell and sell them. Boss. Do quests. Train, you make money as you train unless you're somehow no good at it. Having your income being solely off of leaves is retarded anyways.

I've gotten hacked over 35bill and gotten scammed 60k nx and lost like 10bill from the storage glitch or w.e. it was. U'll get over it, but i'm sorry for ure loss

I'd stop playing or take a break from the game. There are sites to buy meso from that are legit. I mean if you are the desperate to get meso. If i were you i'd just come back when maple RED hits GMS. You in broa?
