Is it worth it to play maple again

if i don't have any evolving rings... i missed both events and i feel like i'd be way too far behind everyone else if i don't have them... i have like 200m~ in funding. please help, i'm actually kind of torn about this.

if i do come back, i kinda wanna make a new brawler.

No man. Don't even fund yourself. Just hang around with the noob crowd. Join an active noob guild. Trust me, you'll have more fun that way.

"Free to play, Pay to win" - that seems to be nexon's policy.
I've poured waaaay to much NX into this game and I'm barely above average. You really have nothing to worry about. Everyone starts somewhere. The rings give a nice boost, but it's negligible. I don't do the whole damage calculation thing, but even with the 3 rings, (I think) you only raise 2-3k in range at later levels. In the early levels, the rings pan out to add a couple hundred to your range. In the end the extra attack adds up, but for the most part is negligible. By the time you get to higher levels you should make enough to afford nicer things. That and there are always events and questlines available to get you items that will keep you up to par with other maplers.

@Quiet: Oh forreal? is that how the game is nowadays?

edit: @darkorbit6 that's trueee. i just don't want to be hopelessly behind... yes, in terms of damage. i'm not a damagehoar but it'd be nice to be able to keep up with most of my party members in the future and such.

@LadyLovely: unless you're willing to spend a whole bunch of $$ or willing to make connection with the dupers, or "merching" you will always be underdamaged?

I had multi evo rings and stuff, but i moved to a diff sever and i dont have them anymore </3
I still out damage many people.
But the main thing is that +10 att isnt that much. You can get 10% spread out on all your equips for less than to evo ring and have more damage!

@nakama00 I don't want to be far behind to the point where i'll always be underdamaged 5ever. is that a crime? T-T

I started on my evan with 100k + left over pots from my fail lvl 21 mage that I ended up deleting

Starting funds for a returning playing doesn't need to be high. But then again...I started pre-bb and damage wasn't all that significant lols.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm down to 2m scraped together across several characters </3
If you happen to play in the overly populated Scania, feel free to buddy me
@dizzzayum @wabisukex3 that's actually pretty encouraging... yeah i mean it's not like i'm dirt poor. i just don't have the money for evo rings.

Just make a TB (or any other Cygnus Knight) first. You'll have the extra AP per per level making you stronger, and every 5 levels gains your eventual brawler an additional attack.

The blessing will go a long way, and as others have already mentioned the Silent Crusade quest line gives some pretty decent rings. Aside, from the evo rings there are a galore of other rings that are good. Nexon also randomly gives us quests that gives us additional rings. There was recently the Gratias (sp?) ring. Sadly it didn't stack with my explorer critical ring, so I had little use for it...

You aren't too far behind everyone. Even unfunded, you can rely on monster drops and hope for decent potential to get you to higher levels. I usually don't bother funding my characters until 100+. That's when I start to scroll and cube things and work towards better stats for endgame items.

Edit: Also, you can PQ for some pretty neat items now Happy Mapling!
if you want to make a brawler, perhaps you should wait to come back until the pirate revamp (i believe the revamp will be in June for GMS?). the revamped classes will be able to earn very nice event-specific rings (they always offer jazzy rings during revamp events).

you will also be able to earn Silent Crusade rings (some are vewy nice) and the new Ephenia (spp) ring, also vewy nice AND purple.
I agree with what she says, but you could also make a brawler before the revamp to stock up on some maple equips during the anniversary, because that'll help boost the stats with the set bonuses without having to pay. It also provides some nice free equips =D

@JoonkuLee: but i'm so poor though. T-T i guess my question really is, should i bother starting up again w/o having the rings at all? and i were to buy them later on, they would be wayyyyy later on.
@JoonkuLee: Hmm that's true... i just noticed that there were 3 evolving rings though (i thought there was only 2 lulz).... like i just found out that there's three of them... that is so saddening LOL T-T. sigh idk i dont know how i'm going to make up for all of those stats
Well I'm sure they'll find a way to release a new ring or something, but there will probably still be the rings at a cheap price when you make enough money for the three rings. I've seen the second and third for about 140-170mil each

But you can always earn money later on and buy them, cause thyre are A surplus of rings out there

They're both not too expensive either. And you should come back to enjoy the game and the people you meet, not just the evo rings
