Computer Speed Am I getting My Moneys Worth

So I recently moved into my new apartment and got AT&T's U-Verse thing... I'm paying 30 bucks a month for 3.0[something] connection.... I forgot what the letter was HAHA.. Maybe Mbps? That's what's Google's showing. ANYWAYS, I feel like it's freaking slow.... I Speedtested and these are my results: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2953686965

Am I getting my money's worth or should I call them and see what's up? Thanks everyone!

Yes, that speed is abysmally slow. I don't think U-Verse offers any speeds that low as a commercial product. They used to have a 256kb/sec "budget rate" but I don't know if that's being offered any more. 3.0 Mbps is far more likely what you're paying for.

Make sure NOTHING else is running on your computer when you use Speedtest, and that no one else in the house is using the Internet when you run the test.
If anyone else is streaming videos or watching TV or torrenting, it will reduce your Speedtest results significantly and your overall Internet speed in general.

If you're getting that speed with nothing else using the Internet, then it's likely there's a problem with the cabling or their setup, especially if it's a new installation.
Call your ISP and ask them to run a "remote test" on your lines. They can do that without having to come to your house.

I pay 50$ a month in my area and get 50 mb/s. If I were to lower it to 30$ I'd get around 20 mb/s. Yours is really slow, I'd try to figure out how much you're supposed to get and if it really is that low or they are false advertising then switch to a different ISP.

Assuming 3.0Mbps is the download speed, then the speed you had posted is 1/5th of that speed.
Nowaday, normal cable internet speed is avg around 7.5 Mbps and there are areas which have Gbps (which is 1000 Mbps) services too.

@CtBlack That's what I thought... So it's not matching up with a 3.0Mbps connection?

In general comparison of internet speed, the speed you are getting is slow. It all depend on what speed the service from your ISP states, if it is faster than the result you posted than call them, otherwise you need to move to a higher speed service.
