The Real reason for no Happyville this year

As most of you no doubt know by now, Nexon chose not to include Happyville in the "Christmas" patch this year. I've been seeing all kinds of wild theories flying around as to why it was excluded. (Mostly along the lines of "people were offended because of CHRISTmas" ) That reason in particular is silly, as Happyville does NOT celebrate Christmas, but Maplemas which has literally no religious connotations at all. The real reason is far more simple:

Happyville isn't in KMS.* And moreso than ever this year, GMS has become a straight up copypasta of KMS. Yes my friends, the reason is good old fashioned Nexon laziness.

I'm not particularly upset about the loss of Happyville myself.. All I really remember about it is that it was riddled with glitchiness and lags. Especially that snowman event, but I can see why many of you would be. As once a year content that is more or less exclusive to GMS, it is somewhat special. Let's hope that nexon realizes their mistake and starts going back to a more original way of doing things next year.

Well anyways, I hope that clears it up for you guys because I am 99% positive this is the reason for it. Happy Maplemas to all of you.

*Edit: Alright, I'll admit it I was incorrect. KMS *does* have Happyville. But they didn't this year.. Which as far as I'm concerned just proves my point even more. Nexon is copying KMS's patches verbatim. The fact that KMS didnt have it this year so we don't have it still holds up.

It doesn't necessarily have to be due to Nexon's laziness. Maybe they were told not to include HappyVille this year.

You are mental. Did you know NEXON owns both GMS and KMS. Of course GMS is a "Copy Pasta" of KMS. They both do the same updates and patches, but GMS was started after KMS making it behind on the patches we recieve. Everything GMS does differently they first have to get permission from the CEO's running KMS.

Basically GMS is the child of KMS, it is an exact copy and anything thats changed it has to ask mommy in order to do so. If mommy wants there to be no happyville, there will be no happyville.

Great, Nexon left out my favorite holiday event and tossed in those retarded login and participation events.
What if it is on their contract?
GMS is under no contractual obligation to have everything KMS does. Case in point, those afforementioned towns that we have and they do not (which are glitch ridden and NEVER get updated with the new KMS changes)

MapleStory = Korean code base. So you're saying it would be easy to find someone here in the US with both great coding skills and knowledge of Korean and English to do what needs to be done. I swear so many people don't give Nexon America credit for what they do accomplish.

@The0neAnd0nly: Err.. I'm not seeing a point to your point... Showa=Japan.. and its in GMS.. Does that make GMS Japan?

nexon failed with the snowflake event as hackers were stealing all the snow flakes. and they ruined the economy by makign white scrolls dirt cheap those weeks.
They've had a year to fix the exploit events. No matter how you slice it, it boils down to laziness.
No. I dont know if KMS did Happyville last year but they are not this year.
Yes but essentially what I said was "We don't have Happyville this year because Nexon is copypasta-ing KMS's events"
The fact that KMS chose not to have Happyville this year, and GMS followed suit kind of proves this.
I'm pretty sure it doesnt, but I don't play KMS, so I'm not positive..
Even if they do have it though, that just proves my point even more. KMS didn't get happyville during the Legends patch. (Because the legends patch was in the summer for Korea) Hence in straight up copypastaing Legends patch, Nexon US couldn't be bothered to throw in Happyville.

If KMS does have Happyville, and they got it this year you can be 100% sure that this is the reason for it.

Actually, I'm close to 95% sure it's due to there being dupe glitches associated with Happyville every year for as long as I can remember.
So you're basically rejecting my claim of Nexon laziness and substituting it with your own.(Which I find just as valid)
Nexon was too lazy to debug the glitches out of its content.. Even though they had over a year to do so.. (And didn't they fix it last time? I remember it being taken out last year for like a day, and then brought back with whatever made duping possible removed.)
kMS has happyville... who told you it doesn't?
Ever notice that it's the GMS exclusive places (or at least places that are not in KMS, where GMS gets the majority of its new content from these days) That end up with *most* of these glitches?

That still boils down to Nexon laziness as far as I'm concerned. Not giving enough or a darn to properly debug their stuff, or add it in with the rest of the content: Which is why NLC and Singapore monsters NEVER work with the events/ drop rate changes/ familiars/etc. I don't think GMS actually HAS a full time staff of developers/debuggers.. Which would actually explain a LOT.

On a sidenote, I hope KMS puts NLC and Singapore in soon.. I really can't think of any good reason why they havent yet.

The real reason there is no Happyville is that the World of Maplestory is sad.
