Of course. It has been the next main MMO I've planned to play since I quit WoW 2 years ago.

@Cva123: It's looking like mid to late this year.. They're going into a (closed) beta this month. Games been in development forever haha.. Still, it looks like its going to be worth the wait.

You have to buy the actual game, but if you think about it that's actually a good thing. When you buy the game you get one account. If you get banned for hacking/any other sort of jerking around youre out about 50 bucks, whereas in maple you can just make another (free) account and continue like it never happened. There are also other things, like superior gameplay and being run by a company that actually gives a damn.

Also, after you buy the game there is no subscription.

It's more than just the game that's superior. The company that runs Guild Wars is infinitely better than Nexon.

I will leave Maplestory for Diablo III.

You're comparing a 2D side scrolling game released in 2003 to a 3D game that's been in development for years and is just recently going to be released and both have different target audiences.

Reflecting on it, I've come to the realization that Maple isn't really something one can just "quit". I will however be going on an indefinite hiatus as soon as GW 2 comes out, as it as a far superior game in literally every (positive) possible way imaginable.

It pretty much runs on anything that isn't a wooden computer.

The development was so heavily delayed that I think it uses DirectX9, even though it'll be releasing in 2012.

I have already left Maplestory behind for Diablo 3 Beta.

guild wars 2 > maple any day. i dont even need to have second thoughts about it.

Guild Wars 1 (run by the same company and development team as Guild Wars 2 will be) Has been online since early 2005, longer than Maple even, and they STILL haven't given any gameplay advantage to cashshop users. If they were going to break the promise NOT to be "pay to win" (which they made) they would have done it in the 7ish years it's been up.

Before, the cash shop in maple gave no advantage to players. Why can't guild wars 2 later introduce things like that?

You arent alone.. Seems like 80% of the people who "play" this game just boss and Afk. There isnt really much else to do.
