I'm not into cutsie poopsie anime style either with HUGE eyes, head, tiny body, etc. I do like anime drawings(but not my favourite)but I like them more realistic.
Like this drawing of the Dreamy Ghost I'm working on at the moment. I'll probably submit this one on Basil next week. It's still unfinished...XP
I'm much more into drawing landscapes and still-life but I guess it doesn't hurt to try something new. Sorry to hear you don't like anime style drawings.

By the way thank you for giving me advice on my Tablet. Actually that drawing is the very first drawing I did with my tablet+pen tool. Since it's pretty much my first time drawing on a computer, it's taking too long...>_>
I really wish I could do realism.
Some of the artists I know say if you do anime you cant do realism, and vise versa.
I don't think its an issue of can or cant, but rather an issue of difficulty.
I'll try ~_~
Hmmm I thought it was people who can do realism can also do anime I mean anime isn't really difficult, or maybe it's just me.
I think most artists started out drawing anime (Including myself, shame shame shame)
Ah...I remember the time when I was an anime artist. I looked at all the anime drawing tutorials--and in the end, the marionette like figures did not satisfy me.

Anime artists without a background knowledge of RL anatomy will find it hard to make poses look natural. So go study some realism before working on your own style of art. I know many great anime artists out there that are proficient in real life drawing as well! I suggest doing portraits of people from your favorite live action/reality shows. That way you know you aren't doing something right when you can't recognize the face.
That's a really good tip there

I draw to escape reality. T_T

I'll try! But I just finished drawing something today, in one day. Usually it's over a course of a few months, so I'm art-drained. D:

I will try though!

I see... that's probably how alot of people think, but to me that's exactly why it's so fun! It's so different from these chubby little chibi pixels, It's fun to see what maple would look like realistically Don't you think it would be fun to try?

Hmm.. it's more cartoon-ish, but the big eyes, lineart and stuff, I'd categorize it under anime D:

I love your style! D: You should draw something for basil, the more different styles the better!

But I need mine D:

I was never counting you as anime artist
just tryin' to get some attention xD
oh, but I do do a lot of anime work.

I prefer cartoon-y style, but not anime I also think it's fun to portray cartoons in a more 'realistic' style. I still struggle with actual realism though The only way I can actually achieve it to an extent is by hand, with pastels.

It's not easy as you may think a lot of people have the ability to do...I tried doing a self portrait of myself but my right eye ended up being overly drifted away from my nose. >_> (I was doing this traditionally BTW!)
