been lifting since junior year of hs, now becoming a senior in college. At this point, i'm working out to get ripped and trying to lose some bodyfat. my best number on the bench was 225x5 at 170 lb bodyweight last year. Now that i only incline bench in the 12 rep range, my max bench is probably 215x1 at 160 lb bw (not sure tbh).
I don't squat either cause i always skip leg day (when i used to squat for a few months, i worked my way up to a 245x5 max)
JUST DO IT.

@ChrisJohnson: Honestly just wanted to weed out the fakes. With my original post. No hard feelings. The closest I've been to a "collegiate" level would have to be flipping tires.

No the hell it's not. KALI muscle even said himself time under tension is the most important factor to gaining size. What can 5 sec under a 335 lbs bench press gain that a 80% rep max cant?
415 DL isn't even that impressive for 1Rep max. I be pulling that much for reps. Not hating on you or anything bro. 145 lbs kinda makes me judge you. KALI muscle said in an interview he doesn't max out anymore. Only because it has a high chance of causing injury. I rarely have anyone spotting me so excuse me for stating my reps. @5 am I'm hydrating and about to hit my cardio
I had an original message typed out for you, but I don't think we need to argue about who's right and who's wrong. I've been avid in the weight room since freshman year because of football and track and I've been increasing weight as I got stronger throughout the years. It's been about 5 years since I started weight lifting to improve in my respective sports. As a person who weight lifts to get stronger, I'm positive that you'll understand that it's possible to progress in weight through time.

"I could be wrong for some people, but you know, when I put in so much cardio and I put in so much time in the gym to get my size and strength. It bothers me that people can just E stat and feel accomplished" <-- I do hill work, sprint work, endurance/stamina work, plyometrics, stretches, jogs, all that good stuff and weight lift after. It may not have all of these mixed into our workouts every day, but my practices go from 2:30 to 7:30 every day (excluding weekends). If you've ever competed in the collegiate level, you'd understand how rigorous season training is.

What makes you say that their numbers are BS? Their numbers are believable. The only info needed is their years of experience lifting.
A 145 lb colleague of mine had a 225 b,402 s, and 485 dl at a recent meet. It might not seem plausible at first , but the kid's been lifting for 5 years.
A 315 squat is easily achievable.

@xdarkshynobi: If you're a dual athlete that constantly has to hit the weight room, then it's easy. The fact that you're listing reps instead of max is questionable, to say the least.

You'd also call BS on my teammate that deadlifts 415 at 150 pounds, too right? I wouldn't be surprised, I was dumbfounded when I saw him lift it. Keep in mind these are 1 reps with full recovery.
Well I just moved to an apartment so I'm gonna use their workout facilities for the rest of the summer. Mostly for the treadmill. My college also has a gym so I'll continue working out there.
I'm gonna try to lose fat before getting super ripped though.

i dont gym to get huge or bulk. i go 4 days a week to keep my physique and tone up the upper body. i like what my upper body looks like now and i plan to keep it like that for a while
i run a lot so i minimize the amount of lower body workout at the gym.

1RM are stupid AF. All you are asking for is injury. Only power lift should even think about doing 1RM.
Call BS on you two. @123abt @ChrisJohnson @OP too
Bench 270 @ 4 after 2 sets I HAVE to drop the weight. Or I need a spotter.
Squats, I do 205 for reps of 12 non stop until I can't move. Switch to front squats for sets of 6-8 non stop means less than 30 secs of rest.

Height 5'6
Weight 150 pounds
Bench 200
Squat 350+ but I cant squat anymore due to ankle injury
DL 225 for sure, but I never maxed.
I do calisthenics instead. More fun and more challenging cause you can always change up your bar workout.

I don't lift at a gym but I work at Home Depot in the Garden department.

It's basically like going to a gym. Loading constantly for 7-8 hours will get you in shape.

I go to the gym every day, but only for the treadmill.

I run 2-3 miles and fast walk another 2-3.

Might start lifting in July, but I'm just trying to get stamina for soccer.
