email exploit. they dont need to know your password or pic. they can just hack into your email and reset everything to it ;]

login id is the one thing you can't change. once someone knows, they know it forever. you're screwed.

@FlashedBlaze: Lol, I love how people like you think, my advice, go to Bera, smega your LoginID, come up with the most complex password and pic you can, and as long as you don't use G-Mail, I'd say within 48 hours the only character you will have on your account will be a level one with a name that includes VPM $.

As i got it people can only see your ID if you are an explorrer.
My MTS ID showed up as my name since I am a WH D:
my main, on the other hand, did show my ID
which is BRILLIANT if you ask me

im pretty sure they get your password too. pass+id = email. email password = nexon password = birthday+last name = pic reset = hacked

there easily hackable because of recovery questions if you forgot your email.

Think about it..
Most questions are like what is your dogs name or your youngest neice's name or what was your first school
sometimes that info cna be easily found through a couple of searches on google..
then they recover your password and get into your email then go from there..

Maybe once there in your email they recover your myspace or a facebook pass or
some forum and it will email your old password to them. sometimes passwords
are shared among sites and that gives them your maple password.. or they might even
be able to just straight up recover your maple password and it just goes down hill from there.

I hope you guys know its really not hard to make a good password and PIC code. Literally, think of the most random thing you can think of and use that as your password. Dont be afraid to throw in a few numbers in as well.
And for your PIC code, Throw some letters in there! Even if they're random like your password. Make them both long. It will take about 5 seconds more to log in but at least your account will be safe.

There are ways to not only get your id but the email tied to the account so you should be concerned just like the poster above said they can also use social engineering to try and crack your email anr or maple pw.

It's not your password you should be concerned about, it's your email and personal info. If said hacker knew enough about you [I.E. Facebook/myspace/twitter..etc] including your email which are easily crackable. The ID is enough. This of course applys if you are a specific target.

It involves systematically checking all possible keys until the correct key is found. In the worst case, this would involve traversing the entire search space.

This is the most ignorant thing I have ever read. First of all when an E-mail gets hacked for a maplestory account it is usually a keylogger or social engineering. If a hacker could hack e-mails he would not be wasting his time on maple. He would be out hacking bank accounts.

of course not. i still know that the risks are increased but still as long as your PIC is different from like 123456
email is fully protected and unroutable. your account has a less of a chance of getting hacked. I didnt say it was immposible. just highly unlikely. if this was the case then most accounts would have been hacked by now and everyone would be quitting ms. i get what you're saying though.

They can lock your account from typing password wrong too many times.

Theres also a 3line of defense.
Your pic.
Which will always remain invisible since you logg in via on screen keyboard.

People who gets hacked are [b]almost always[/b] people with pic like 555555 or 123456
