New Nintendo 3ds/xl available for Australia/NZ in 2014

Nintendo Australia Direct (first one)

Things to note:
[*] Official release date in Australia/New Zealand: 21st of November, 2014 (same date as Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire release).
[*] Suggested Prices in Australia are $219.95 for the 'New' 3DS & $249.95 for the 'New' 3DS XL.
[*] No adaptor included with the console (unlike current consoles), but a separate adaptor is available for $14.95 (current adaptors with existing consoles from the DSi onwards still work).
[*] Charging cradle available for $14.95 for both.
[*] US & European console release not available until next year (so AU/NZ are the only Western regions to get it this year). That being said, the European console shares the same region as the Australian one, so you can import it.
[*] Still no new exclusive 'New' 3DS games announced besides Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS (releasing next year).

Is this the New 3DS or a new 3DS?

And does NZ/AUS use the EU region locked consoles? (nvm, I read your post properly now)

PS: I can't WAIT for Xenoblade Chronicles!
Eh. Most of those are somewhat necessary for good gameplay. Sure, they're very helpful, but not worth the price.

1. It's great the range of watching the game in 3d has increased, but I usually turn it off, as it hurts my eyes.
2. I'm probably not going to use that c button most of the time, unless I play a game that requires it.
3. The new and old 3ds xl are basically the same. 0.5 increase in length/width is not much, and a few grams lighter doesn't make a big difference.
4. I'm going to say it again. $220 AUD (roughly $200 USD) for just a 3ds is not worth it compared to the old one. You can seriously buy a 3ds xl with that kind of money.

Don't get me wrong on this. I find it great that they have some new additions, and the c button would greatly help in SSB (like what @Btnha7xMM said).
But the reasoning of me buying this for a higher price, but with little additions, doesn't make sense.
Oh I should add - The price for the new XL is the same price as the current XL in Australia. So when you guys get yours, it should be the same price as the current models (Australians have to pay more than just the exchange rate for stuff).

I'm glad this New 3DS was revealed before I got the money to pick up 3DSXL. Now I'm going to buy a cheap 2DS to hold me off until this one comes out. That extra analog will do wonders with Monster Hunter 4 and Super Smash Bros.
