What kind of security does Nexon have
I never thought I would be the one making this kind of thread.
And of course, it's a "I got hacked" thread.
I got on today, to find out that everything I had was gone. I can't understand it. I proceeded to scan both my computers - no results. My account wasn't on the list of hacked IGNs, so it wasn't that either. The only place where I entered my info was in-game and on the Nexon site. I never, ever, shared my account info with anybody else, and never will.
Because of this, I feel like it might be on Nexon's part that my account had been compromised. Be careful, guys. You never know when they might strike. I really thought I was unhackable - I scanned once a week, maybe even twice a week if I was feeling paranoid.
No, I'm not trolling, unlike my previous post about the OSSS. Everything is really gone now. Mesos, items, whatever. I'm not sure if I should continue in this game. I just don't know what to do at the moment.

Honestly, the only thing I can do right now is send a ticket.
But after seeing people not receive replies for months, I feel like it's a hopeless act. Who seriously has been reimbursed by Nexon?

The funniest thing is that I haven't put a single thing in the MTS for over a month before the MTS hack started to take place.
To be honest, I know how you feel, even though my list was on the leaked account info list that was posted some time earlier.
I'm disappointed in the security of Nexon America's Maplestory. It's also demotivating to know that they'd rather create a new CS item that gives you the idea that your item is safe, but there are plenty of ways to bypass this CS item lock. :o
A friend of mine plays WoW, but Blizzard, the company that runs WoW, has come up with an ingenious idea to have a little device, which costs practically nothing, to make sure your account is almost unhackable. It's a little device that makes up a code every 5 - 10 seconds. Without this code you cant log in. I wonder why Nexon couldnt come up with something similiar?
Another one of the odd things is, they mention that Account sharing is against the TOS. So you'd say 'whenever I log in on another IP, I risk being temporarily banned because of so called account sharing.' But I doubt there are any logs at all that could prove that you're account sharing. Not only having been able to log in at 3 different computers *2 of which at my own house, latest at a friends' house* and not being suspected of account sharing, but there's also this little Maple tip that I just got reminded of, That you should be sure to change your account info after logging in at a public computer...
* It could be that I'm wrong about the last part, but I'm pretty sure it was something like this.* If they want to prevent account sharing, why not check for it? If It's against the TOS, then why not punish it? I find this all a bit odd.
