There is something in my attic
and/or my walls. I rent the upper level of a duplex. Within the last hour or so I've begun hearing scurrying sounds coming from my wall(s). Old pic, but [url=http://i.imgur.com/zBBnTKF.jpg]this is the room I'm hearing them in.[/url]I just stepped outside and stood on a chair to see if I could see/hear anything on my roof and I couldn't. It's definitely inside the house. My cat has also shown interest in following the sounds she's hearing from the walls, but a couple minutes of that is enough and she has resumed napping.
I hope it isn't mice. I don't think mice would be here when the weather is nice. I know mice get in the basement, and my downstairs neighbors cats killed two mice last November when it started getting cold, but luckily I've never seen any signs of them in my apartment. Are mice noticeably audible when they move? I'm thinking (hoping, really) that it's something bigger like a squirrel. But either way, I DO NOT WANT MICE IN MY APARTMENT, THEY'RE GROSS, and I'm worried about whatever is up there chewing on electrical cords and causing a fire in this 1930's house.
I've always been scared to look in my attic, plus I need a ladder, but I finally peeked up there once last year when my landloard had to have somebody come check something out quick. I ain't going back into my attic. I contacted my landlord and if he wants to come look in it ASAP, that's fine, but I ain't going up there alone with no action plan.
I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.
edit: Wow, I made so many typos on this. Just shows how scared I am! I think I corrected most of them.

Yeah I've had mice in my house before, it was terrifying. I was in the kitchen and I saw one scurry across the kitchen counter and I almost had a heart attack lol. Come to think of it this was in the winter as well. We tried using mouse traps but they never worked so my dad ended up paying some guy to come set up these poison traps, haven't had a problem since then.

Have you ever lived in a place with mice? They freak me out. Last thing I wanna see is a mouse scurrying across my floor. Okay guys, we have determined there's no space big enough for any large animal such as a raccoon or a squirrel to get in, so unfortunately I was hearing mice! :'( There is no signs of anything in the attic, at least from the center where the opening is. Probably mice in the walls. Landlord is going to come back another day and throw some poison up there.

Okay guys, my landlord called me a little over an hour ago and said he was going to have some guy walk around the house to see if he can see where creatures might be getting in, and my landlord is gonna come inside with a ladder and look in my attic.
Call someone to take a look at it
Place some traps up there.

it sounds like you have mice. They always scurry around and you can often hear a noise similar to someone tapping on the wall when they are nibbling. Hopefully they dont get into your room! Just reach up there and place some bait.
