alternate options for rollbacks?

last time, i remember nexon did something else instead of a rollback that just made duped items disappear.
tell me if im wrong but i dont think it was a rollback cuz the said duped item i had was bought months ago before they made it disappear
arent there any other options nexon can use instead of rollbacks that u can think of?

sure it helps with the economy but its also an unfair disadvantage to the rest of the players who made some sort of progress in the game
Maybe instead of a rollback, remove items with duped aee scroll on them and replace them with clean versions and hellban those people for the heck of it, always need that compensation right?
That would take nexon so long that probably more people will rage and quit o.o

if youre talking about the chaos scroll incident a while back, they made us npc chaos scrolls or else we would get banned.
There really isn't another way. I mean, if they try to delete all the duped items, the maintenance would be extremely long, just like what happened early this year I believe. Even if they delete all the duped items, the hackers who profited from the items may still be able to keep the mesos they earned, which isn't fair for the person who purchased the duped item. Rollback would be the safest route to go.
i guess ur right dude, i lost 200-300m last time from a duped item so i guess rollbacks are fair

Well,I think that RB is the best option right now because there are some duped items from 3 weeks ago and
It would be a problem to detect it,And since the majority of the duped items are bieng duped now its the best option to recover the economy.
@LeVacher: No rollback right now would be the best even when i dont want any rb at all. Imagine people buy non boom and make all their items 15 stars. Would it be fair if they dont rb? doubt nexon going to just remove all items that used duped scrolls.
i guess ur right man i never rlly thought about that part
watever the case, rollbacks will always be bittersweet

There isn't exactly a way for Nexon to know what's duped and what's not. The last time I was around for something like this everyone was duping Chaos scrolls, and Nexon's move was "If we find an account that has too many, we'll just ban it. Please delete any duped Chaos Scrolls." About a week later...the FM was still bloated with 2m Chaos Scrolls because "lolnexon"
If nexon dont rb its much more unfair o.o
no rollbacks would be worse but the question is, arent there alternate options to get rid of duped items instead of a rollback?

There's a small chance that nexon will actually do work and get rid of most of the duped items.
