Does Str affect Night Lord range?

I currently have I night lord, and I was wondering if someone could tell me if strength affects your damage range. If so by how much? I would like to know if it is worth me getting the +50 Str Hyper skill. Thanks

@kiue: I thought it might ignore MG.

In regards to the Hyper Skill passive defense, did you get any % HP boosts as well prior to surviving? I've survived one hit from it on my NL ever since Root Abyss was released, and I do it daily. I know it's 90-95% HP (for me at least). I do have the CS (5% HP) and Kaiser link skill (10%) as well, though. I also had 3k def/m.def prior to adding the Hyper Skill passive defense as well as 21k HP. I've also seen the projectile vary between classes (e.g. Warriors seem to get hit for only 30-40% HP from it, but the ground pound is pretty much a guaranteed 90% HP attack for any class).

My BM also survives the projectile, so I don't know what's wrong your character. It doesn't have any % HP gear, and the only % HP skill is from 4th job Spirit Link. It only has 2.5k def/m.def as well as 10k HP. I've tested it with Elite Puppet (20% damage reduction at max), and there's no difference in the damage. With it on and off, it still varies between 90-95% HP.

As a shad who was unlucky enough to get 21% STR pot on my Dkhan while cubing, I can confirm that it does boost your range, but very minimally if at all for a shadower. I imagine it helps shads since we need STR to equip two major shields (khanjar and dragon khanjar), so it sorta acts as like... a tertiary stat, but I can't say anything for any of the other thief classes.

@TripleBladez: Nope you are wrong, it has something to do with def. When I didn't have the Def hyper skill, i was not able to survive one hit from it. but after adding it, i was able to survive. It does like 101% of your hp or something because it always does a little more than my Max HP.

The ball does damage directly related to your HP, so mage's MG is pierced and does not apply.

what don't you get.. NL's main stat is luk and secondary dex.. str and int will do absolutely nothing to your range.. Even on a shadower/dual blader, dex will do more to your range than adding strength. Top of that, secondary stats were removed so even if you added +50 to your secondary it wouldn't add that much either, i would put it to another more useful passive.

@kiue: You mean the projectile from Von Bon? Most NL's survive that. It's like a 90%-95% HP attack, so you should be using Power Elixirs to heal yourself each time. Mages can't survive the attack because it seems to ignore MG for them.

Sometimes Von Bon follows up on the projectile with his ground pound, which is where most classes who don't play attention often die. The trick is to stay close to Von Bon because his projectile can reach one whole side of the map, and I believe the ground pound hits the whole map. You could also duck or jump for his projectile, and jump for his ground pound.

No, it doesn't. The 50 Hyper STR doesn't add to your range at all. I tried it before myself on my NL.

I added to LUK, Dex, HP, Critical, Def and i believe M def.

OT: Str does add to your range. I tested before.

NW: i got about 3-8 (can't remember )to my range per luk
NW: I got 1-2 added my range per str.

Str, is not really worth it. Since we NL's are very vulnerable to attacks and damage, it is not even worth it to go add str. When i added to Def, i was able to tank 1 hit from Von Bon's Ball attack, which is instant kill, but i guess Def applies in this.

Hyper Def is also a decent option as well if you boss a lot, particularly solo. That 500 extra DEF can be a life saver

STR adds range for DBs/Shads.. Not sure about NL.
I added to: STR, DEX, LUK, Crit, HP, MP.

the +50 Str, Luk and Dex are not really worth it man. Trust me.
Have you ever heard of a thief who is strong or good at agility? Its horrible to be a "lucky" thief.
In order to be a successful thief... u need to be intelligent. Get that +50 INT man. Im telling u, it will take u places.

Str won't, but you could get some +50 dex hyper if you'd like a bit of more range (not that much a difference though).
