It's just scary that you were able to more eloquently put just about everything I was thinking when I made the thread into your post. The quoted part is the most prominent thought I had when I asked the question - I mostly saw a deep orange too with orange horns because of the hair. I made the thread to convince myself that it was red so that I can keep it since I need a red character. In the end, I switched its perm NX back to my bowmaster because it is more clearly red than my F/P ('cause of the hair) and it contrasts my marksman as I originally intended.
Glad that I could help~ If you really want that NX on your F/P you could always just change the hairstyle and colour to something that leans more red while still having orange highlights. Personally, I think that overall can work really well with a F/P mage and with a bit of effort she can have a 'lava flow at night theme' (+/- a demonic or dragon secondary theme if you want).
I think the main thing that stands out (when trying to assign a colour) is your hair, which is a deep orange.
The horns can be seen as red, but due to the gradient, the warmer areas draw the most attention, thus allowing the horns to pass as orange within the composition; though, they could look more red in another situation.
I would say orange.
Why? Because if you try to label your character as 'red' and search for all the red pieces in the outfit, the size of them is rather small in comparison to the amount of orange that is present and how much can actually pass as orange or an orange-red. Ignoring the props, I think the main thing that stands out (when trying to assign a colour) is your hair, which is a deep orange.
The horns can be seen as red, but due to the gradient, the warmer areas draw the most attention, thus allowing the horns to pass as orange within the composition; though, they could look more red in another situation. This also applies to the cross in the background which does have red elements but the warm yellow broadens the colour range of 'orange' and therefore portrays your character as such despite the purple and red visual effects. Black is also present but it's just serving as a filler or an empty void of a focal point to work around.
Next is the weapon. It's yellow and that's all there is to it. Within the composition, it's the first thing that draws my eye and makes it stay there because everything else (apart from the deathly pallor) blends in too much and my eye has to put in effort to pick out all the details within the character's appearance. Though, it does link to the warm yellow of the cape. The weapon is bright, stimulating, and emits the most heat. I'm not sure if you want your weapon to be the centerpiece of your character's look, but that's what it's doing.
In my opinion, the goggles don't really do too much. They are definitely a red, but a warm red that blends in with the hair due to its larger area. Same goes for the red details on the overall - the hair just consumes them.
I think that's all I wanted to comment on. I recreated your character in bannedstory - to analyse her better - so I wouldn't see all the blown out colours on Basil. Sorry if my paragraphs sound harsh, they're really not meant to be. Lastly, your character reminds me of a candle or raging fire. ^_^ Though the amount of orange-reds would suggest it's cooled down a bit.
You look like you're satan.
orangey red
Why not both red and orange?
Fuchsia?
Your avatar really struck me on that.
Purple mountain's majesty.
red...
Red-orange
have you tried turning it off?
Yes, that would be correct.
I don't see how it is orange
