Needing help in a bad situation

First off, hello Basil!
I need help in a situation regarding one of the classes I'm taking.
So I'm in my Senior year and I'm taking Marching band for the 4th year in a row.
We have a new teacher that just recently was hired last year in the middle of our season. When she first came I gave her a chance to be accustomed to our things and as well as other kids. But after a while she would make mean and dumb comments to the students and the previous teacher. (The teacher had to leave in the middle of season).
The thing is, she started making changes. While changes are good, some of the changes were unnecessary and some didn't make any sense whatsoever. There were five kids in particular that stood up for her mistakes and her attitude towards the children. They knew some of the things the teacher was doing was not right yet they ended up selling out their character and values in order to ensure a leadership position for this year. The Woodwind captain at the time was best friends with the Drum major (main leader) and the drum major would constantly cry and tell me about how the teacher was ruining things. The assistant drum major did nothing but fool around and set a HORRIBLE example for the kids, not only that but he had no ones respect whatsoever. Nobody liked him Because he let everyone down, he was so immature and two-faced... The Color-guard captains would not only defend her, but make people feel like crap and horrible people for standing up for themselves. They shunned people who had an opinion. The Drum CAPTAIN (not major) would just agree with what the others said. Now, they were my age and juniors and it would make sense that they were kissing the teachers ass to get what they wanted, but they were setting a bad example for the kids by teaching them that by kissing ass you could get places and not hard work. The VP of the school even called the stupid and immature at one point yet the kids still defended her.
Now skip to the end of the year. The woodwind captain and the assistant drum major ended up trying out for Drum major as well as I. They ended up getting it and I got something else. They brown-nosed the teacher to get it though, they would sweep her floor, clean her office, and shrug their friends off to be with her more.
This year she has been treating the kids like crap, and they want her to get fired and they hate her all of a sudden. I ended up arguing with one of the Drum majors because I told her that she is ungrateful to the teacher that for so long she kissed her butt. Why should I trust the Drum major that did that when she would stab my back like she did to the teacher? I told her that while I was envious of their positions I was not envious of the way others look at them now.
Am I wrong to be disappointed in the leaders of our band last year that are seniors now? They stabbed her back so easily and are bad people. What kind of example is that? It's complete trash... The worst part of it is now people (most of the others) are coming to me like I'm a babysitter telling ME their problems and not the Drum Majors.

Long story short: Kids kiss teachers ass to get what they want, now that they have it and aren't getting more of what they want they hate the teacher and grouping people to get her fired. I got in an argument with one of the kids (my friend) and called her ungrateful and selfish. People (most of the kids) are coming to me for guidance and not the main leaders. Am I wrong to be disappointed and irritated with the kids that kissed her ass?
Well that is just stupid. If you get to the point in which you acquire the technology to travel back in time, and you really wanted to make a difference, you would go back to when op's mother was still in the early stages of her pregnancy, in which case a falcon punch surely would end op's life in the womb, before it ever came to exist on the outside world, and also in the future, which would be our present, although a happier and overall just better in every sense possible, present.
FALLLCOOOONNN PUNCHHHHHH!
How old are you? Stop being so childish. All of your life you are going to have people vying for the attention of others. If your teacher is as bad as you say, file an official complaint to the school.
The thing is we have. But it's not all of the teachers fault. I understand while she was new she made mistakes. Hey, it happens. But the same teacher has canceled many programs and has had numerous complaints by students and parents to administration. There is nothing we can do right now.
I could easily take a sport again but I really like playing music.
