This is why, you should not pick good classes

Everyone knows bandwagoners always jump onto which ever classes is the highest DPM, it happened so many times. but think about it.
Who still plays stuff like Arans a lot anymore? they use to be every frikken where.

With the recent changes to Heros in KMST making Heroes better then Paladins in DPM, a lot of people on my BL are talking about
"oh ima make a fighter now!"
"I was gonna make a UA page but now i am gonna make a UA fighter"
"Heroes are gonna rule!"

Well...yeah. Heroes will be good.
But what happens when KMS releases another restructuring or balance like they always do, all the time. They change classes constantly.

So what if suddenly Heroes aren't top DPM anymore? And you are stuck with that UA Hero you worked so hard to get that you suddenly feel is lack luster?

What if they release a mage Restructure that makes Fire/Poison or Ice/Lightning the highest DPM class?

Paladins are the perfect example, NO ONE played Paladins. But look how much that has changed. At the current moment, People who make Paladins are considered Bandwagoners! If you told someone 3 years ago everyone is gonna suddenly bandwagon paladins, they would call you crazy.

That's why you should pick a class that you love to play, cause its fun. That class might suddenly become a lot better!

Anyway....

I have a tendency to test out just about every class that looks like it would vaguely appeal to me. I can usually tell if I'll enjoy it by level 20 or so, but I go up to 40 just to be sure.

So far I've only kept two - my Marksman and my Corsair.

I'm just picking a hero cause, I got a Spearman already which I plan to make a DK. I like ComboBreaker and Brandish. And hero has epic attacks

I've been telling my guildies things like this. -__-
They keep makings DWs/DBs/Mechs, mostly for ksing reasons. I keep telling them that people like them cause nerfs and start QQing when it happens.
Yes, I know that the people who aren't apart of these classes do QQ too, but in my opinion I feel like anyone would when they have someone stealing their training spot just because they can.

It's almost like Nexon has a plan with this whole band wagoning situation:
1. A certain class gets updated in a patch
2.Bandwagoners go crazy and "take control"
3.That class abuses their strength/skills to KS to the point where its annoying
4.Other Maplers start to complain
5.New patch, that class gets nerfed
6.Bandwagoners seek a new class to over populate
7.Repeat steps 1-6

I believe that some classes do need restructuring and they might get them which will probably just bring people to it and I'm all for that because I know that the people who go for the changes will go for new changes as soon as they happen but I and other people who stayed by their class just get a nice buff in return to their normal playing style

I played a Pally mainly because I thought they would be like my Buccaneer. One of a kind. Oh wells, guess I was wrong.
I spent so much time and money on it, might as well stick with it.

Indeed, hopefully now that heroes are getting buffed people will leave us pallys alone

I think its more fun to play the class when its top of the DPM chart. You can quickly get a high lvl, and if the chart changes, you can easily restart the next new thing and get it to a high lvl. For example, my UA pali is 164, aran was 157 when they were big, helped a friend make a 17x DB when they were popular. It isn't that hard to just play the class when its popular and move on, so i disagree with the TS. But if you can find a class youre honestly going to be happy with forever then all the more power to you.
If I made a Pally after BB, but didn't know it was gonna be so good and stuff, would it still be considered as a bandwagon? I chose this for fun, and that's what people call me.
@TacoLOL:

Yeah but they're not as fast. Sure DW are strong but all I do is spawn SD all day. =/ There's a reason why I was level 101 for more than a year on my DW.
Ya know, i actually have yet to see any math saying that with the current KMST changes, heroes would outdmg sairs...

Then again, i have yet to see the math for ANY class that got bandwagoned so far be compared to sairs.

Just sayin, high dmg may attract bandwagoning and dmg hoes, but the highest DPM class currently (as seems to be stated time and time again) aint getting bandwagoned. Amuses me that ppl dont bandwagon sairs still, and instead take classes that do lower dpm.

Basically, any class that gets a junkload of changes to make them stronger, has a chance of getting bandwagoned.

EDIT: On a side note, to anyone planning to make a hero now: YOU'LL HAVE TO GET TO ABOUT 173 TO HIT OPTIMAL BOSSING POTENTIAL.
That is because Corsairs take a bit of control and aren't uber fast levelers. My Corsair took me a while to get use to mount/dismount/recoil, etc.

Oh my god, i hate bandwagoning classes. I hate the new rise of all the buccaneers out there.

@Xeihro: Heros iSlash is becoming 0,1sec faster, and hits 4 monsters instead of 3. How can that be nerfing?

Reply March 26, 2011 - edited

Heros are getting buffed? I thought they are getting nerfed since intrepid slash slows down 0.1 second...
Personally I pick my classes based on what I can actually work well with. I dont use any mages or theives cause I'm almost always horrible with magic based and most ranged characters.
Same! I've tried play bowmen and mages recently and it's tough cause i always jump right into mobs and end up dying. i am too use to play warriors
Class hopping like that keeps the game interesting for some. So be it.
I'm not knocking people trying a wide variety of classes, infact i highly encourage it!

I am knocking the reasons why people play certain classes, cause quite often i have seen people and friends of mine upset cause their class which use to be stronger is suddenly not as powerful as other classes and they feel like quitting it.

i understand wat this guy means but if you choose a fun class to play over a stronger class, not only will you be ksed and it being harder to train and such, but it will also be a while till KMS update that class

Same, I quit for like 2 years, came back like 2 months ago and just chose dual blades cause it looks awesome and my friend said they were fun to play.

Dude Ts and Everyone thats cosigning that nut needs to shut the hell up......
will this bandwagon crap really fing stop its ridiculous. Just because theres a switch in classes people play dont mean you have to fing rage
because your class is now liked its really annoying you noobs crying about people making your class that use to be dead.....like seriously man shut the hell up and stop crying
back when maple was new it was appreciated more people playing your class you like thats why i have slowly come to the conclusion after about 3rd Generation (maplestory 3rd birthday) the maplers have become unintelligent and just really stupid.......

I c NL the most fun job b4 high lvled DB but I dun have db cuz he needs lots of moneyx for skill books,I'll just w8 for chaos(I heard u get skill books for free)

When I decided to come back to MS when Big Bang came out, I decided that my pirate would be my last character before I quit for good. I chose gunslinger because guns are badass and I was watching a lot of One Piece lol. I didn't even care about my damage or my DPM or w/e, countless number of people asked me while I was training, "dude y did u make gunner, mechs is coming out soon gunslinger r gunna get pwned". It didn't matter to me because I play for fun not for the best damage and skills.

I try to pick classes that are fun instead of for damage.
I'm trying to get each of my four favourites to lvl 120
Pally (lvl 130)
Bucc (lvl 15 LOL xD)
Aran (lvl 73, already got my arcglaive)
Battle Mage (lvl 70)
Still got a long way to go.
OT: I agree with you, bandwagoners suck -_-
