Tatamo wont accept the Secret Spell Scroll
So, I killed all the available Manons and Griffeys (about six of each) and got the Heroic Pentagon from Manon on my Crusader. However, Griffey didn't drop the Heroic Star and none have been spawning. Then I went to the 66th floor of Eos Tower and bought a Secret Spell Scroll. When I brought it to Chief Tatamo, nothing happens, there's no donation exchange or anything. Why is that?

Yeah, haha, it did. My friend and I duo'd Zakum once and I got four skillbooks including Advanced Combo Attack.

My luck in game is terrible. It took me about ten days to get the book for the Rush quest. It took me ten or eleven hours to get ten peridots on my Dawn Warrior with eight hours of 2x and an hour and a half of 1.2x. I've failed two Zerk 30's and exploded several Reverse equips, haha. So, Advanced Combo Attack will probably take me a week to get.

Yeah, I did that and it worked. Now, I have to get Advanced Combo Attack from Zakum... >.<
Have you tried going to your 4th job instructor?
its not like you need the pentagon once you give in the scroll though

Already tried it. I might have to drop the Heroic Pentagon, but that's kinda risky.
