Whats the point of maxing ele when you have broadside

<3 Once I hit 4th job the slow training speed in 1-3rd job was quickly forgiven once I got broadside. The issue is that the guide I was following for Corsair suggested I max ELE before RF/Broadside? Some people are saying that ELE is more useful in some situations, but I have found none. ELE freezes you in place, its feels ridiculously slow, and the damage is questionable, and there is no 100% stance. I am in the mind to max ELE last unless someone can tell me otherwise. Thanks. Also, does the 50% explosion damage work with BSB?

It depends entirely on how you play your Corsair. Not everyone plays them the same. If I were to remake it, I would to Broadside before maxing ELE because although I don't play too much, the only situation I have come across that ELE is better than Broadside is at HoH where the mobs are too far apart to for the Broadside explosion. Everywhere else I much prefer the speed and movement of using Broadside. It's also good if you want to keep a good distance away from bosses.

For the life of me i can't understand why people keep saying that Broadside is better than ELE. I am currently level 209 and my ELE is hitting about 15m - 20m per line at golems, Broadside is hitting 8m - 12m (more on the 5th shot) per line on the same map... but Broadside does shoot faster (albeit 1 line less per attack).

The thing is, most maps in maple have stupid obstacles that make Broadside next to useless, especially in boss situations. Hilla, VL and Empress are ok with Broadside, but that is all i can think of right now... and even then, Broadside sucks if you don't quite time DR correctly.

Broadsides explosion damage is so tightly focused that unless the monsters are stood on top of each other it is effectively just a 1 vs 1 attack, so again it loses out for me (and these are all just my own thoughts on the skills) in virtually all mobbing situations.

So, 1 vs 1, Headshot. Groups that aren't spawning in one fixed spot over and over, ELE. Dimensional PQ on that one stage with about 30 waves of monsters spawning in one spot over and over, Broadside. And of course, Broadside is nice for commerci trading.

Obviously i made my sair well before the revamp that brought in Broadside, but i can say for certain that if i were making it now i would hold off on Broadside until late in the build because i just don't see the value of it unless a map is flat with no obstacles. Now, if the explosion damage had a greater area of effect, the bombs did not bounce off random obstacles and they fixed the bugs with the skill... yeah, maybe then it would be useful to me.

EDIT: Broadside is somewhat useful for ranked dojo runs (early stages before you switch to headshot). It allows you to get a few bombs going towards a spawning target while you are standing on the portal... shaves a few seconds off a run if done correctly. Aside from that, DimPQ and Commerci... meh.
Hmm, thanks for the insight, usually i would tank across the mop/map with BSB so they follow me and then blast them, but I don't know if that is reasonable in places that you mentioned were touch damage hits hard. Based on your explanation then, since EVO LAB AND DIMENSION PQ are basically done till level 170ish. Therefore maxing ELE towards the end is not a bad idea?
Yup. Personally, i got to lvl 200 mostly through dimension invasion (and some HoH every once in a while)

Battleship Bomber is dependent on the terrain, so if it's not a linear map, Eight-Legs Easton is usually preferred even though it's weaker.
Broadside is stronger than ELE but it's entirely based on which situation you're in. At HoH, the broadside bombs explode right in front of you (glitch?) so i use ELE because it has a farther reach/range. I also use ELE at warrior grounds because broadside only works well if the mobs are clamped together, and in warrior grounds, this is usually not the case so i use ELE. At evo lab and dimension inv (lower lvl training spots), i recommend broadside.
