Best Warrior Defense Paladins vs Dawn Warriors
I have been playing Dawn Warrior into 4th job and realize that they have great defense capabilities. I have seen some bossing videos and it seems like they are taking regular damage even though there are so many buffs that reduce their defense. Can someone explain to me how Dawn Warrior defense works and why they aren't considered to have almost the same defense as my Paladin.

Thank You guys, I think the %HP attack explanation gave me the answer. I guess Paladins are still Gods.
@SirKibbleX2: An attack that does a % of HP rather than a set number based on defense. Say, Hilla has that full map attack if you don't enter the barrier that can do a good 90% of your HP away.
%HP attacks dont hurt paladins as much because shield of light negates 25% of that attack

Oh I think he meant Dawn Warriors lol
But @OP, Dawn Warriors only have a mere 25% damage reduction. Just some thousand more defenses and that's pretty much it. Paladins have way over 50% I'm sure of it though I don't know the exact number but it's pretty high up there.

You're comparing an emperor to a commoner. Defense means nothing at %hp bosses. Also, paladin has a higher defense cap than DW.
