Game wont load for me at all
Okay, before I explain what's happened, I'm telling you I'm not a computer genius. I do have a normal understanding of computers but not as much to find out how to fix this problem I have.
I downloaded GMS last night after a 2 year break. It took a while for the download to finish and I assumed that the reason it was so slow was because my computer is older compared to what's more modern nowadays (I'm using windows xp), the installer finished, I launched Maplestory using gamelauncher and logged in pretty fine. There was minor lag but I assumed it was my only my slow computer and I'm not really bothered by that. However, after i finished making my brand new character on my brand new account, I d/ced straight away. I tried launching it again from gamelauncher and nothing happened, no hack shield/blackcipher, no loading screen, not even an error message. the only thing that indicated anything was that my cursor had the hourglass symbol for about 15 seconds. Then I tried launching it from the website, but still, nothing happened. I've googled the problem and found multiple solutions which haven't worked for me. I still have some things that I could add to the problem: when I tried restarting my computer as a possible solution, the splashscreen and loading screen did appear, but d/ced straight after the loading screen (the one with the jumping orange mushroom).
Yeah, the only thing I can think of that might be the problem is that my computer is too full.
Can ANYONE please help me on this? Sorry for the wall of text, but I wanted to make it as explained as possible.
p.s: I was playing on ExtaliaMS (a prvate server) before I came back, but I think i've uninstalled that completely. Maybe this also has something to do with the problem? idk...

omg, thanks heaps for that I closed it and now at least I know that I can open the client again. It's loading right now but it's still, as usual, taking 10 years for that to happen. Hopefully I've deleted+uninstalled the prvate server files correctly and I can finally play GMS again. Gonna update my result later. Thanks again for the help guys.
update: The loading screen was working but straight after that I was disconnected with that common "check your Firewall etc." error :c
Did you check if the maplestory process was still running? Sometimes it doesn't fully close when you dc. Try ctrl-alt-del -> process and see if it's still running

Okay, gonna go on a hunt for these hidden files. Thanks for the suggestion, hopefully this works As for the link, I followed the instructions but I didn't see any "loopback adapter" for the last step.
