So I was trying to do the friendstory quest but for some reason I can't click on Elwin barrier master to get the quest and it wouldn't let me move on without finishing quest

Yep. Same issue here.
Maybe it has to do with pre-patching?
working fine for me a lot of other people are having problems too so i guess you're one of the unlucky ones
