@Amped: I've been hoping for Krystal since brawl. I'd almost lost hope for the Starfox series until they finally announced a new game.
@imtwocats they need more money to fund the next wii system because they didn't meet their quota for the wii u's sales. They didn't release any games on it's release thus making their revenue very low, so by making you buy both they expect you to have bought a wii u and a N3DS. It is a dumb for the consumers because we know they are taking our money, but it is such a good marketing technique on their part.
uh, Nintendo already stated that they planned to stay on the Wii U for quite awhile. If anything, they are just trying to increase the Wii U player base even further while its competitors barely have any good games to play. If I am not mistaken, world wide, Wii U is only trailing PS4 and the N3DS prior to Bayonetta's release, and that gap is only going to shrink.

They don't need more money. They have billions in savings and the 3DS sold better than the Xbox One. They have at least a dozen games in development for the Wii U including a new Starfox and Zelda title in the next year which will make them plenty of money. Nintendo doesn't need to resort to these kinds of marketing tactics in order to make a larger profit. The Wii U version of smash bros looks promising enough even if they didn't include the soundtrack or mewtwo.

It's a horrible marketing technique. All Nintendo really needs to do is get a proper marketing team. Bayonetta 2 got 10/10's on dozens of websites but only had modest sales because advertising mostly came from word of mouth. The Wii U has a great lineup of games now, but nobody knows that because they didn't bother to market them. I'm more than happy to give Nintendo my money, but I'm incredibly disappointed at some of the things they're trying to pull right now.

Also still waiting for that Krystal character DLC.

Pretty sure it said that Mewtwo will later be available as free DLC, but for now to get him earlier you gotta get both.
Either way, don't like Mewtwo so couldn't care less.
Needs moar Wolf.

I don't understand why Nintendo is pressuring people so much to buy both versions of Smash Bros. I'm going to have to buy the Wii U version just for the code and return it after. Nintendo still has no idea how to do proper marketing.

"Mewtwo will be a downloadable fighter available if you buy both the 3DS and Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros."

Sorry Mewtwo.
