I'm unhappy with my college classes, what to do?
I started college yesterday and everything went smoothly, but I'm not certain if I'm content with my schedule. My classes are very boring and I don't know if I can put up with them for the rest of the semester. I can swap classes, but the class I want is full, and the other times that it's available are in the evening and Saturday. Is there any way to get into a full class?

You really need to just suck it up and do the classes. You are going to have to take even more boring classes before you are done with school.
If it's a large class like 500+ they'll probably just add you if you show up and tell the professor you absolutely need that class.
If you're unhappy just drop the class. If you can still get by easily not taking a class don't even fucking bother.
@magicalimage I think my teacher helps with that. He's super enthusiastic and pretty cool overall.
@fradddd: No, the class is very boring. I try so hard to pay attention and to keep interest, but I can't.
@magicalimage why, cause you have to discuss in it or something?
@fradddd: Haha, what a coincidence. I have philosophy class as well, and that's the class I dread the most.
Sometimes you gotta tough it out.
For example, my philosophy class was getting nerve-wracking because the teacher was making sure he called on everyone in class at least once every class. But then I sat next to this cute girl and now it's fine.
I'm sitting next to a hot girl in one of my classes so I don't mind that class B)

Evening classes aren't as bad as they seem, as long as they don't interfere with dinner times. I actually find it a lot easier to focus on classes later in the day since I'm not just waking up. If you don't think you can focus and put forward the effort required to get a good grade in the class, I suggest switching it with something else sooner rather than later.
You could also try emailing the professor and asking, especially if you show genuine interest in the subject in the email. It still might not work but you can try.
Speak to the professor of that class you're interested in to see if they'll make an exception for you (although that means showing your interest in the subject matter).
I wouldn't say this method is a guarantee for anything (and chances are if they're strict on class sizes they probably won't let you in anyways), but it's better than nothing if you at least want to try to do something about it.
Or suck it up and go to the class in the evening/Saturday or wait for the next semester(s) when it'll be available again in the time slot you want.
