It is because of people wearing 2 pendants, actually. There's a much lower demand for the belt due to people wearing 2 pendants + Tyrant Belt which leads to deflation.
I've had 6 pendants and only 2 belts drop and I kill Hell Mode on a daily basis. The pendant is still worth about twice as much as the belt.
Source? I've never heard that the drop rates would be different for both superior drops. It mostly is the demand. Why would someone be able to afford the expensive set but half do it? They would benefit much more from.getting a tyrant belt. Even the cheap belts don't sell quickly because no one really wants them.
My source is both myself and my friends killing gollux. That applies to all of the sets, not just superior. It takes noticeably more tries to get a pendant than a belt. But then, maybe we're just unlucky and the drop rate is even, but I'm not the only one on basil to say the pendant drops less.

I'm personally sticking with the Reinforced Set.
The Superior Gollux Set is definitely not worth 8bil+
The only difference between Reinforced and Superior is that Superior has 15% more PDR, more slots, and a LITTLE more attack/m.att.
No biggie, Reinforced is 10 times cheaper.
Why not a get SW ring, superior gollux ring, superior earring and one superior pendant?
Have you ever seen a SW ring in fm? I'm pretty sure the data for SW ring is wrong, and I have never seen it drop myself, nor I have I ever found it in fm.
OT: Some people have double pendant slot. You can equip 2 Gollux pendants + Tyrant Belt = Greater boost to damage
