Failed my Ap Exam

So i found out my score today for APUSH and i got a 2 . I guess what im wondering is what i should do next at this point. Will colleges not accept me because i failed my ap exam? I have a solid B for the year in APUSH but i got a 2 on the exam so they would think i just had an easy class right?

Colleges will not refuse based on ap scores. Now, if you did well on ap tests, would that help you get in? Probably. But they are not supposed to be influenced by the scores you get on the ap test. The ap tests are solely a measure of whether you can skip a college level coarse. As long as you have a good mark in the class, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Interestingly, my teacher's test was 3x harder than the AP version. Ended up getting a 4 on APUSH, but got a 2 for APES -.-

Dam... it really does feel as if the education in America is so much harder compared to Australia

I remember when I didn't pass my AP exam. I was so devastated, but two years into college looking back, it was not worth fretting over. Just take it in college and get an A cause you'll know the material now

You can choose to withhold ap exam scores and your colleges won't be able to tell.

It depends. What nationality are you? What other classes do you take? Is that your only AP class? Do you do other activities? Do you have uniqueness that others like in you? What is your score in SAT and SAT 2? Are you close with the teachers? Are you popular or friendly with others? Do you have any roles in the school?

Ikr. I did the same thing. In fact I only studied for like 2 hours before the test and got a 4 also. I guess you just have to like history to be able to do well. It's a pretty easy test but hard to do well on if you find it very boring.

On the other hand I did get a 1 in Chem and 1 in Stat tho lol.

I got 3 2's on my APs and still made it into a good college
So the answer is no.

It's alright. I feel you. I failed the ap calc one which is insane because everyone says it's the easiest exam. Sigh. Idk if i can get into bc next year now...

Colleges look at your GPA and the grades you received for the classes you took. You have a higher chance to get into a UC if you take AP courses because they increase your GPA, in no way are you obligated to pass the exams for the class at the end of the year for colleges to accept you; as long as you get a B or higher in the class, you have a higher chance to get into a college you want compared to someone who didn't take an AP course.

AP exams are for college credit so you won't have to use up your units for the class when you're a freshmen in college. Even though you failed, it's not the end of the world, you just have to retake the course in college and it will be much easier and shorter compared to high school.

All the AP Exam is for is to get you college credit so you don't have to take the course again in college. The actual grade in the class itself is what the colleges will look at to accept or decline you.

I remember when I took AP Lang in high school and I got a 2 on the AP Exam. I was like "Hell naw" and I took AP Ling the next year and got a 4 on that AP Exam.

But really the AP scores don't mean much except for getting you out of classes, but if you're going to be a history major anyways, most likely the AP test wouldn't get you out of taking their version of the course.

APUSH was by far the hardest AP class in my highschool. We even had to go to our teachers house/other students house on weekends if we wanted to study more. It was a fun class but I only ended up getting a 3 which is good I guess.

It's fine! You have the option to send scores, so just don't send them. Lol I got a 2 on AP world history sophomore year =/

I'm so eager to get my scores, but unfortunately I don't get them until the 9th.

Thanks for the kind words. I got a few encouraging words from basilers tonight and it's great to know there are people in this community that help others when they're down.

You don't have to submit your AP Scores I think.

@SirKibbleX2: That's a shame.
APUSH was one of my favorite classes in high school. Which is probably why I did really well on the exam.

Then I took a history class in college for like three weeks and now I refuse to ever take a history class again. NOPEEEE.

Just don't send it to them. They won't know your AP scores.

That's pretty bad, dude. The APUSH exam is pretty damn easy.
I'm pretty sure they can't deny your admission based off your AP scores. But I'd be sure to try and find a way for colleges not to see it though, because it can't be good.
