Pop culture references in Adventure Time? Aside from some comeos of images from Homestuck, I'm pretty sure AT is lacking pop culture references. The humor isn't stupid, it's clever. Otherwise why would the majority of demographics be teens and above? Adventure Time is a gem in animation; they take care to pay attention to detail like body language of a character so they don't simply rely on voice acting, and they actually create emotional relationships between characters. The simple fact that they even bother to [b]age[/b] the main character is proof that the cartoon isn't just a silly gag show like Spongebob, but the makers put in the effort to develop and progress all the characters. There is a clear difference between naive Finn from season one and Finn in AT's current season.
I don't really watch the Regular show so I won't bother to talk about it.
