Surely disappointed todays maplers
Been back on maple after a while and after being disappointed by maplers everywhere, its just sad.
No one wants to party train, it's all about me and being by myself. No one looks to boss together or just play the game.
Everyone wants to socialize in one spot, act cool posting little "afk" signs. What happened to the good ol days where people wanted to go boss and train together.. people helping people out. It's just all about "me me, my damage range, solo this solo that" Just extremely disappointed. Wish there were more people willing to be active and help each other out..
sorry for the rant

@iEatNoobz: yea i wouldn't do that either
Go get your real life friends to play with you if you want friends that badly to train with you and do stuff.

there is nothing wrong with having no friends
But the fact that he expects people (strangers) to hang out with him when he isn't even part of any "social circle" is kinda stupid
@AckarRed: solo as in solo bosses? or solo as in solo training. If you ment bosses I can see WHY they make bosses like Magnus or the C-abyss bosses. There should be bosses that are almost impossible to take down alone, tis why im a big fan of Hekaton (but then you hurt the unfunded which really sucks but its one way or the other)
Honestly I think it might only be like this with Twilight Perion (although in its defense, KMS doesn't even have party play there =P) due to its lower +20% exp per member thingy, if it was 50% it'd be worth it math wise iirc. I mostly say this given that KMS is flat out encouraging working together (take a look at some of the skills in RED, a good amount of them flat out require parties to use)
Yet KMSers still prefer to solo. It won't do any good.
Not their fault. Nexon penalizes people for playing socially.
Training in parties has never been effective, at all, in Maplestory. o.o
There are tons of people that are helpful and nice: you are either (A choosing to ignore them so you can complain about nostalgia or (B haven't stumbled upon them yet.
Go chat with some people you come across, not every person may want to talk but there are tons that do.
Your problem is you didn't even join a network of friends. If you don't look for people to play with, do you really expect them to go out their way and look for you?
We said the same thing with Pink Bean 3 years ago, look now.
Hekaton will probably become like that in 3~4 years.
Years is quite hefty, so it doesn't really matter anyways. By then, it'll just be overshadowed, like Pink Bean.
And the community is kind of bad depending on which you're talking about.. the funded, the newbs, the noobs, the merchants, and the hene-... If you fit in one or more, then find people who are in that category. Usually a funded doesn't talk as much to a noob as much as he/she would to another funded person.
At least, this is what I see. We have social classes here in Maplestory, apparently.
Maybe you should find friends first then come and whine on Basil.
I hope Hekaton can never be solo'd. Ever.

What happened to the good ol days
You sound like my grandpa Good ol days? You mean a year ago?
I always find it amusing when people complain about a boss that can't be solo'd.
I hope Hekaton can never be solo'd. Ever.
you know if you actually looked hard enough or just made friends with someone, the community isnt THAT bad.
What Sniped said, maybe if you found a good guild that'd help. Earlier my guild leader helped me do Horntail and the pre-quests for it despite me dying because I lagged for a second when I was hit with a near-death spell. Still he helped me and the guild I'm in is full of cool people so you just gotta search through the muck and find those nice people.
it's because there's younger people playing now (i think)
Just today, I joined a party to do a pq and I was disconnected while changing channels. I came back a minute later just to see that I was kicked. -__-
don't people know that maple has a lot of glitches?
you know if you actually looked hard enough or just made friends with someone, the community isnt THAT bad.

It's less efficient to train in a party. That's just all there is to it.
