What causes high ping? LoL

I never used to have it so high. Got a new computer a few days ago and its started then, but i dont think the computer matters since ping is internet right? Well it could be riot games or my isp. I live in NZ we have the worst internet

I also got pre-installed Norton

Try to right click on it and you should see "Inactivate smart firewall & Inactivate Antivirus auto protect"

Also open up norton and go to options > real-time protection to turn off "Spyware protection"

Unless we have some different verision or something o.o

You should only have about 200-300 ping when playing USW servers from NZ, also when sydney servers do come itll drop down to ~100ping. Well thats what I get from playing on HoNs servers also ping should never be an issue, a player from AUS always had to play 250+ping when playing online tournaments and always managed to come 3/4 place during dreamhack etc

I also bought a new computer and my ping started skyrocketing.

But I noticed when I turn off my anti-virus when I play my ping goes back to normal. So I guess you could try that.

Your computer could affect ping in terms of distance from access point, as well as network power of the computer, as well as other people using your network at the same time.

I also live in NZ and my ping is fine at around 200 in game. You can always try battleping I heard that helps. Not sure how the computer would affect ping, I would expect it to be something more related to a change in how you receive internet.

Take faith in the fact that Riot is opening servers in Sydney soon.
