Nothing has been done in 9 years, they're not going to start now.
The Star Force update in some ways is Nexon's method of combating the massive influx of mesos coming into the community. There can be anywhere between 10-20b, maybe more, coming in daily from botters alone. With the Star Force update, it's pretty much a stalement in terms of mesos coming in and out of the game at any one time.
Nexon has taken action with the starforce patch by removing protection scrolls, one of their biggest sources of income. I believe they also took other measures that will slightly slow down botters. If you're interested, you can read about this in the Starforce patch notes.
