iPhone Storage Space Questions

Hey guys, so I have an iPhone 5S with 16 GB and there's only 3.64 GB left according to what iTunes says when I plug it into my computer. I recently checked my settings to see how much space I had left and it said 7.3 GB roughly. So what is more accurate? The thing that takes up most of my space according to iTunes is my "Other" which I assume is all corrupted files. And does anyone know if I do restore my phone, will it update to the new iOS 8? I heard that there were major bugs and so I didn't want to get it just yet. Thanksss.

I don't know how the iPhone allocates it's storage space, but on my Android (Kindle), it divides the total space up into different groups for different things (apps, files like music or video, and reserved for the system), so when it tells me I've got 1gb left for music files, that only means 1gb left of whatever it allocates for music. There's still plenty left for other things like apps.

So the number it's telling you for iTunes may only be what's left for music, while the total memory is still something way higher.

The space on your phone is more accurate. iTunes said that I filled my 128 gig also. It's all jacked up.
Go trade in your 5s for 350 credit and get an iPhone 6 at sprint or somewhere. That's what I did yeeeee but now I gotta spend expensive monthlys
I don't have Sprint LOL I just got my 5S back in February and with T-Mobile you have to completely pay it off with a certain amount each month so I don't think I'll be getting a new phone for at least another year or so LOL
